Job Requirements

  • High school diploma preferred
  • Valid California driver’s license with clean driving record required
  • ServSafe certification or equivalent preferred
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Completion of satisfactory background investigation and Live Scan background check required
  • Employment contingent upon satisfactory physical examination
  • Subject to California DMV Pull Notice System with ongoing driving record checks
  • Must pass backlifting exam
  • Ability to stand for eight-hour shifts on uncarpeted surfaces
  • Frequent lifting of up to fifty pounds
  • Ability to walk, stand, stoop, crouch, and climb stairs and ladders as needed
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English sufficiently to perform all duties

Job Qualifications

  • 4-6 years experience in hospitality or high-volume restaurant production or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Demonstrated ability managing a culinary production team specializing in worldly, vegan, vegetarian, and healthy cuisine
  • Detailed culinary knowledge of food inventory, recipes, menus, production methods, and nutritional information in relevant cuisines
  • Ability to train staff on recipe execution and equipment use
  • Proficient in developing and perfecting menus and recipes
  • Skilled in computer usage including Word, Excel, Microsoft Windows, and food production management software
  • Experienced in budget preparation, analysis, and cost control
  • Strong management and supervisory skills for diverse staff
  • Able to organize and monitor assignments effectively under changing priorities
  • Working knowledge of food safety rules and health standards
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • Ability to conduct quality control inspections
  • Skilled in positive guest and team member interaction
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for extended periods
  • Ability to mediate conflicts successfully

Job Duties

  • Provide leadership and direction to the culinary production team
  • Manage food production focusing on global, vegan, vegetarian, organic, and healthy cuisines
  • Ensure adherence to nutritional and quality standards
  • Control food costs effectively
  • Supervise and train culinary staff
  • Develop and perfect menus in consultation with the staff dietician
  • Oversee sanitation and safety compliance in the production area
  • Coordinate schedules, production, and communications among staff
  • Maintain positive customer relations and team dynamics
  • Prioritize tasks to meet strategic goals and handle operational challenges in a high-volume dining environment
  • Conduct on-site quality control inspections
  • Interact professionally with guests and team members
  • Execute additional functions assigned by management
