Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- 2 years experience in event management or related professional area
- OR 2-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major
- Ability to solve operational problems and suggest alternatives
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to manage budgets and maximize revenue
- Proficient in managing complex event logistics
- Strong customer service orientation
- Ability to work collaboratively with sales and property departments
- Willingness to act on behalf of directors when necessary
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED with 2 years experience in event management or related field
- OR 2-year degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration or related major
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple complex events simultaneously
- Proficiency in budget management and revenue forecasting
- Experience in customer service and complaint resolution
- Ability to lead meetings and coordinate teams
- Knowledge of sales and marketing strategies in hospitality
Job Duties
- Prepare all event documentation and coordinate with sales, property departments and customers
- Handle complex event logistics and ensure seamless transition from sales to service
- Lead pre-event and post-event meetings for assigned groups
- Solve operational challenges and suggest alternatives
- Manage customer budgets to maximize revenue and fulfill customer requirements
- Oversee customer experiences from file turnover to post-event phase
- Manage group room blocks and meeting spaces
- Up-sell products and services throughout the event process
- Participate in customer site inspections and assist sales
- Act as liaison between sales and customers across all event phases
- Manage event revenue and profitability
- Forecast group sleeping rooms and event revenue
- Review billing and payments with clients
- Interact with guests to obtain feedback on service levels
- Handle guest complaints and problems
- Follow up with customers post-event
- Communicate with customers and internal teams regarding event details
