JW Marriott, a luxury brand within the Marriott portfolio, boasts more than 100 exquisite properties in major cities and distinctive resort locations. JW Marriott prides itself on fostering a supportive and positive work environment where associates feel valued, supported, and encouraged to grow both personally and professionally. Their unique culture emphasizes holistic well-being, offering numerous opportunities for training, development, and recognition, thereby enabling team members to pursue their passions in an upscale setting.
The role of an Event Planner within JW Marriott or Marriott Hotels is pivotal in ensuring the successful execution of seamless and exceptional events. This position requires preparing detailed event documentation and coordinating closely with sales teams, property departments, and customers to guarantee a high level of service throughout all phases of the event lifecycle including pre-event planning, the event itself, and post-event follow-up. Handling complex events, the Event Planner ensures a smooth transition from sales to service and back, maximizing revenue opportunities through up-selling and offering enhancements to create outstanding experiences. As a primary onsite contact for events, the planner is responsible for making certain the customer experience is positive and consistent, acting on behalf of the Director of Event Management or Director of Event Planning and Operations when needed.
Event Planners at Marriott International not only focus on operational aspects but also align efforts with sales and marketing strategies, acting as liaisons between customers and sales teams. They skillfully manage budgets to optimize profitability, forecast event revenues, and oversee group accommodations and meeting spaces. Exceptional customer service is fundamental to this role; planners interact directly with guests, handle complaints professionally, and strive for continuous service improvements. The commitment to high standards ensures that every event reflects the quality and reputation of the Marriott brand.
This opportunity is ideal for individuals who are detail-oriented, customer-focused, and ready to contribute to a dynamic team within a leading global hospitality company. Whether you come from an educational background in hospitality, business, or related fields, or bring years of experience in event management, joining Marriott International means becoming part of a diverse and inclusive workplace where your skills can thrive and your career can flourish. The employment type is typically full-time, and competitive compensation packages reflect the high standards and expectations of the brand.
