Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2 years experience in event management or related professional area
  • Or 2-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major
  • Ability to solve problems and suggest alternatives
  • Ability to lead meetings and coordinate with multiple stakeholders
  • Experience managing budgets and revenues
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to manage and oversee event operations from pre-event to post-event phases
  • Ability to act on behalf of management
  • Flexibility to work full-time on-site
  • Good organizational and leadership skills

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with 2 years experience in event management or related professional area
  • Or 2-year degree from accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major with no work experience required
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities
  • Ability to manage budgets and maximize revenue
  • Leadership skills to act on behalf of Director when needed
  • Ability to coordinate cross-departmental efforts
  • Proficiency in event management software and tools
  • Flexibility to work full-time and manage event schedules
  • Detail-oriented with ability to handle complex events

Job Duties

  • Prepare all event documentation and coordinate with Sales, property departments, and customers
  • Handle complex events ensuring seamless turnover between Sales and Service
  • Lead pre-event and post-event meetings for assigned groups
  • Solve operational challenges and suggest alternatives as needed
  • Manage customer budgets to maximize revenue and meet client needs
  • Oversee customer experience from file turnover through post-event phase
  • Manage group room blocks and meeting space
  • Participate in customer site inspections and assist with sales
  • Act as liaison between sales personnel and customers during event process
  • Manage revenue and profitability associated with events
  • Forecast group sleeping rooms and event revenue
  • Review billing and payments with clients
  • Interact with guests to obtain feedback and handle complaints
  • Follow up with customers post-event
  • Coordinate and communicate verbally and in writing with customers regarding event details
  • Celebrate successes and recognize contributions of team members
  • Adhere to all standards, policies, and procedures
  • Set a positive example for guest relations
