Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum 2 years of experience in event management or related field OR 2-year degree from accredited university
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work flexible hours as needed
- Proficiency with event management software and tools
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 2 years experience in event management or related professional area OR 2-year degree from accredited university in hotel and restaurant management, hospitality, business administration or related major
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lead meetings and coordinate with multiple departments
- Experience managing customer budgets and forecasting revenue
- Knowledge of event operations and customer service best practices
Job Duties
- Prepare all event documentation and coordinate with sales, property departments and customers
- Ensure consistent, high-level service throughout pre-event, event and post-event phases
- Handle complex events and ensure seamless turnover from sales to service back to sales
- Recognize opportunities to maximize revenue by upselling and offering enhancements
- Support and act on behalf of Director of Event Management in their absence
- Serve as primary contact for event planners during property events
- Manage customer budgets to maximize revenue and meet customer needs
- Lead pre-event and post-event meetings
- Manage group room blocks and meeting space
- Adhere to all standards, policies and procedures
- Interact with guests to obtain feedback and handle complaints
- Participate in customer site inspections and assist with sales process
- Forecast event revenue and review billing with clients
- Coordinate and communicate event details verbally and in writing
