Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in event management or related field OR 2-year degree from accredited university
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours as needed
  • Proficiency with event management software and tools

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2 years experience in event management or related professional area OR 2-year degree from accredited university in hotel and restaurant management, hospitality, business administration or related major
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lead meetings and coordinate with multiple departments
  • Experience managing customer budgets and forecasting revenue
  • Knowledge of event operations and customer service best practices

Job Duties

  • Prepare all event documentation and coordinate with sales, property departments and customers
  • Ensure consistent, high-level service throughout pre-event, event and post-event phases
  • Handle complex events and ensure seamless turnover from sales to service back to sales
  • Recognize opportunities to maximize revenue by upselling and offering enhancements
  • Support and act on behalf of Director of Event Management in their absence
  • Serve as primary contact for event planners during property events
  • Manage customer budgets to maximize revenue and meet customer needs
  • Lead pre-event and post-event meetings
  • Manage group room blocks and meeting space
  • Adhere to all standards, policies and procedures
  • Interact with guests to obtain feedback and handle complaints
  • Participate in customer site inspections and assist with sales process
  • Forecast event revenue and review billing with clients
  • Coordinate and communicate event details verbally and in writing
