Job Description
Marriott International is a globally recognized leader in the hospitality industry, known for its commitment to exceptional guest experiences and a diverse portfolio of brands. Among these brands is Westin, which focuses on promoting wellness and well-being for both guests and associates. The company embraces a culture of inclusion, equal opportunity, and a dedication to empowering its employees to excel both professionally and personally. Marriott International's properties are designed to meet the needs of travelers worldwide, providing comfort, innovation, and memorable service in an array of settings from luxury hotels to full-service resorts.
Located in Rosemont, Illinois, the Westin hotel at 6100 N River Rd offers an engaging and dynamic environment for hospitality professionals who are passionate about delivering outstanding service and facilitating memorable events. This full-time, management position offers an annual salary range of $77,000 to $99,000, with bonus eligibility, making it a competitive opportunity for experienced event management professionals. The role is based on-site and requires an individual who thrives in a team-oriented setting, where enthusiasm, hospitality knowledge, and customer service skills are paramount.
The Event Manager position at Westin, Marriott International, focuses primarily on managing complex events, ensuring seamless coordination between sales, property departments, and customers throughout the entire event lifecycle – pre-event, event-day, and post-event. This critical role ensures a smooth transition of responsibilities from sales to service teams and back, driving customer satisfaction and operational excellence.
As an Event Manager, you will prepare all event documentation, lead pre-event and post-event meetings, and work closely with both guests and internal teams to solve operational challenges. Your expertise in managing budgets, group room blocks, and meeting spaces will help maximize revenue and meet the evolving needs of customers. By up-selling products and services and identifying enhancement opportunities, you will contribute directly to the property’s profitability and guest experience.
A key part of your responsibilities will be acting as the primary contact for assigned events, managing the overall customer experience, and fostering a positive, proactive relationship with clients throughout their event journey. Your role will include coordinating closely with sales as a liaison, ensuring transparency and continuity from the initial sales process through execution and follow-up.
Moreover, recognizing the importance of service quality, you will actively seek guest feedback, resolve issues promptly, and lead your team by example to deliver top-notch service. You will celebrate team successes, uphold all company standards, and set a high bar for guest relations.
This opportunity requires a candidate who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive — someone who can effectively balance operational demands with customer service excellence. Marriott International’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion means you will be part of a supportive workplace culture that values your unique background and talents.
Joining the Westin at Marriott International means becoming part of a brand focused on well-being and empowerment. The brand's mission is to be the preeminent wellness brand within hospitality, encouraging associates to maintain wellness practices both on and off the job. This role is ideal for professionals who are passionate, optimistic, active, and eager to contribute to a vibrant work environment while advancing their careers in the hospitality sector.
