Job Description

Marriott International is a globally recognized leader in the hospitality industry, renowned for its extensive portfolio of hotel brands and unwavering commitment to exceptional guest experiences. Among its distinguished collection, JW Marriott stands out as a luxury brand offering more than 100 beautiful properties located in gateway cities and distinctive resort destinations worldwide. JW Marriott focuses not only on providing guests with outstanding accommodations and services but also on fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for its associates. This commitment underpins the brand's success, placing great emphasis on associate well-being, training, development, and recognition, all within a luxurious and holistic setting. JW Marriott prides itself on its culture of confidence, innovation, authenticity, and intuition, all inspired by the founder, J. Willard Marriott’s legacy. Joining JW Marriott means entering a vibrant community and embracing a career where both personal and professional growth are highly valued and encouraged.

The position of Event Coordinator at Marriott Hotels is integral to ensuring high standards of event execution and customer satisfaction throughout all phases of property events, particularly complex events. This role acts as a critical linchpin between sales, property departments, and customers, managing event documentation and coordinating to deliver seamless, exceptional service from the pre-event stage through the event itself, and into the post-event process. The Event Coordinator is tasked with the responsibility of maintaining a smooth transition from sales to service and back to sales, while continually identifying opportunities to maximize revenue by recommending and up-selling event enhancements.

Specifically, this role supports and represents the Director of Event Management or the Director of Event Planning and Operations in their absence, overseeing the customer experience from the moment of file turnover to post-event closure. The Event Coordinator leads pre- and post-event meetings to address operational details and customer needs, manages group room blocks and meeting spaces, and coordinates with the field sales team to ensure comprehensive communication and customer satisfaction. The role also involves budget management aimed at balancing revenue maximization with client needs, plus monitoring billing and payments to maintain profitability.

A key aspect of the job includes handling customer interactions, addressing their concerns, collecting feedback, and continuously striving to enhance service delivery. The Event Coordinator’s presence is maintained throughout the event process, ensuring the client feels supported and valued. This position requires a keen focus on problem-solving, operational challenge mitigation, and delivering a positive event experience that upholds the high standards associated with the Marriott and JW Marriott brands. Emphasizing teamwork, service excellence, and leadership, this career opportunity is ideal for individuals who are passionate about hospitality, enjoy customer engagement, and are adept at managing complex event logistics within a prestigious luxury hotel environment.
