This is a vibrant environment for anyone looking to contribute meaningfully and build a fulfilling career with a recognized leader in live events and venue management.

The Senior Events & Production Manager role at Legends Global is a senior, exempt salary position based in Rochester, MN, reporting directly to the Assistant General Manager in the Event Management department. This role acts as a key liaison between clients and facility operations, overseeing the comprehensive planning, coordination, and execution of events and productions at Mayo Civic Center’s venues. Combining deep event management knowledge with advanced technical production capabilities, the Senior Events & Production Manager ensures events run seamlessly, delivering extraordinary experiences. Responsibilities include managing personnel, supervising technical operations for diverse venue setups, approving settlements, contributing to monthly financial forecasts, and ensuring superior client service and adherence to rigorous safety standards.

This pivotal leadership role requires oversight across all aspects of event coordination, client services, production management, and personnel supervision. The position demands proactive communication and collaboration with various internal departments to confirm facility readiness and client success while steering complex technical productions including audio/visual, rigging, lighting, and crew management in partnership with the local IATSE Union. The Senior Events & Production Manager also handles scheduling, budgeting for repairs and preventive maintenance, safety inspections, and compliance with OSHA regulations related to event production. Acting as Manager on Duty during events, this role commands authority to address technical issues swiftly and maintain operational excellence.

Key event coordination duties include serving as a primary client contact, interpreting contract provisions, preparing cost estimates, managing billing, organizing workloads within strict deadline frameworks, and finalizing event details such as floor plans and insurance requirements. Production management responsibilities extend from advancing and facilitating productions across different venue types (arena, theater, flat floor, sporting events, corporate, and community meetings) to managing sophisticated systems like Q-Sys, Dante Audio Networks, and ETC Paradigm controls. The role also involves direct work with live entertainment and corporate productions to advance specific A/V production and logistics needs.

In addition to these duties, the Senior Events & Production Manager leads, trains, and supervises technical and event management personnel, including full-time staff, part-time workers, union labor, and external vendors. The role requires an ability to maintain strong working relationships with clients and team members while overseeing payroll and performance appraisal processes to uphold company standards and union agreements. Flexibility with work hours is essential given the variable demands and timelines of event schedules, often requiring evening, weekend, and extended shift work.

The ideal candidate brings a bachelor’s degree in hospitality, business, sports management, production, or a related field, coupled with 2-4 years’ experience in production management within entertainment venues or corporate meeting environments. Technical proficiency in audio/visual operations, rigging, and production systems is fundamental, alongside strong organizational, multitasking, and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of Microsoft Office, event software, venue management systems such as AutoCAD and Social Tables, and familiarity with network infrastructure related to production technology are highly advantageous. Certifications like forklift operation and a valid Minnesota driver’s license are also required, with ESTA certification preferred. This dynamic, leadership-focused position offers a competitive salary and generous benefits including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, paid vacation, and a 401k plan. The work requires physical stamina, the capability to handle up to 50 pounds, and adaptability to a range of physical and environmental conditions encountered during events.
