In this position, you will be expected to handle a diverse array of responsibilities including, but not limited to, managing event timelines, budget preparation and monitoring, staffing coordination, contract negotiations with suppliers, and ensuring compliance with all safety and legal regulations. Your role will extend beyond planning to include hands-on oversight during events, managing venue operations in real-time, and quickly resolving any arising challenges to minimize disruptions. Your expertise will ensure the seamless setup and teardown of event infrastructure and the effective deployment of all personnel needed for successful event execution.

The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Event Management, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related discipline, combined with at least six years of progressive experience specifically within the sports and entertainment event management sphere. Proven success in delivering large-scale events, combined with a strong grasp of event logistics and budget management, will be crucial. Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, along with the ability to multitask under pressure, are essential traits. Knowledge or experience using event management software will be an added advantage.

This role requires flexibility, including the willingness to work during evenings, weekends, and holidays when events demand. Being based in Des Moines, Iowa, the Senior Event Manager must have an active on-site presence throughout the planning and execution phases of the events.
