Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • 3-5 years of relevant event planning experience
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
  • Experience with event management software preferred
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings
  • Strong negotiation and sales skills

  • At least 3-5 years previous experience working in an event planning environment
  • Proven customer service experience
  • Good administration and organizational skills
  • Ability to develop positive working relationships at all levels
  • Strong understanding of conference and event business
  • Awareness of company and competitor activities
  • Ability to close sales effectively

Job Duties

  • Maximize all Meeting & Events Sales revenue opportunities through upselling of function items
  • Ensure the highest standards of Event Management are in place including building relationships with new/existing customers
  • Manage the department's day-to-day operations and activities
  • Build strong relationships with customers, guests and team members
  • Accurate administration and control of all Meetings and Events related reservations and blocks
  • Conduct conferences and external sales presentations to solicit and secure business
  • Host and entertain clients and maintain client accounts
  • Conduct property tours and participate in trade shows and community events
  • Negotiate services and prices to maximize revenue and profitability
  • Contribute to the selling strategy of the hotel
  • Support Food & Beverage operations and room reservations teams with necessary information
  • Ensure timely communication of event details to Chef and Operations Team
  • Understand competitive marketplace and implement strategies to maintain market leadership
