Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred
- 3-5 years of relevant event planning experience
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
- Experience with event management software preferred
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings
- Strong negotiation and sales skills
Job Qualifications
- At least 3-5 years previous experience working in an event planning environment
- Proven customer service experience
- Good administration and organizational skills
- Ability to develop positive working relationships at all levels
- Strong understanding of conference and event business
- Awareness of company and competitor activities
- Ability to close sales effectively
Job Duties
- Maximize all Meeting & Events Sales revenue opportunities through upselling of function items
- Ensure the highest standards of Event Management are in place including building relationships with new/existing customers
- Manage the department's day-to-day operations and activities
- Build strong relationships with customers, guests and team members
- Accurate administration and control of all Meetings and Events related reservations and blocks
- Conduct conferences and external sales presentations to solicit and secure business
- Host and entertain clients and maintain client accounts
- Conduct property tours and participate in trade shows and community events
- Negotiate services and prices to maximize revenue and profitability
- Contribute to the selling strategy of the hotel
- Support Food & Beverage operations and room reservations teams with necessary information
- Ensure timely communication of event details to Chef and Operations Team
- Understand competitive marketplace and implement strategies to maintain market leadership
