The role of Senior Event Manager at Signia by Hilton San Jose involves leading the planning, detailing, and execution of exceptional group and social events, ensuring each gathering surpasses guest expectations. This full-time position offers a competitive base salary ranging from $82,000 to $92,000, with the opportunity to earn quarterly bonuses based on performance. The Senior Event Manager acts as the main coordinator during the lifecycle of complex events, overseeing event documentation, and collaborating closely with sales teams, hotel departments, and clients to maintain a seamless transition from sales to service and back to sales. This role requires an individual who can recognize opportunities to maximize revenue through upselling and event enhancements, ensuring outstanding and memorable events for guests.

Key responsibilities also include organizing, planning, and prioritizing tasks with clearly defined plans and goals. Effective communication with both internal stakeholders and external clients is essential, utilizing various channels such as telephone, email, and in-person meetings. Relationship building with clients is a top priority to set realistic expectations and deliver on promises. A strong knowledge of company systems, products, and processes is necessary to navigate event logistics efficiently. The Senior Event Manager must also demonstrate conflict resolution skills, handling complaints, disputes, and grievances professionally and diplomatically. This role supports the Director of Catering and Events as needed and participates in customer site inspections to assist with the sales process.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of hotel event planning experience
  • Flexible scheduling based on group bookings
  • Union hotel knowledge preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of Delphi FDC software highly preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients and internal teams
  • Proven problem-solving and decision-making skills

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of hotel event planning experience
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Proven ability to manage complex events from planning to execution
  • Knowledge of Delphi FDC software highly preferred
  • Demonstrated conflict resolution and negotiation skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Experience working within a union hotel environment preferred

  • Participate in customer site inspections and assist with the sales process as necessary
