Job Requirements

  • possession of a bachelor’s degree in environmental science, archaeology, anthropology, or related field
  • experience in archaeological or historic resource analysis
  • ability to prepare CEQA/NEPA documents
  • knowledge of federal and state environmental laws and regulations
  • valid driver’s license
  • ability to travel for fieldwork and meetings
  • eligibility for state civil service employment
  • ability to work collaboratively in team settings
  • willingness to engage in occasional business travel

Job Qualifications

  • bachelor’s degree in environmental science, archaeology, anthropology, or a related field
  • advanced knowledge of CEQA, NEPA, and related environmental regulations
  • experience conducting archaeological and built environment resource assessments
  • demonstrated ability to prepare environmental documents and technical reports
  • strong project management and organizational skills
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • ability to work collaboratively in interdisciplinary teams
  • experience mentoring or leading staff
  • knowledge of mitigation strategies for environmental impacts
  • valid driver’s license

Job Duties

  • perform field analyses related to environmental impact assessments
  • prepare environmental documents and technical studies including CEQA/NEPA compliance
  • develop and submit permitting packages and regulatory permits
  • ensure compliance with environmental laws and regulations
  • conduct environmental protection, planning, and mitigation activities
  • identify and evaluate archaeological, architectural, and historical resources
  • prepare written analyses and reports on cultural resource impacts
  • develop and recommend mitigation measures to lessen project impacts
  • lead and mentor lower-level environmental staff
  • act as consultant to other technical staff, management, and external agencies
  • participate in interdisciplinary project teams
  • monitor and implement mitigation strategies
  • ensure proper documentation and compliance throughout project lifecycle
