Job Description

Vorto is a cutting-edge technology company dedicated to revolutionizing America's supply chain efficiency and sustainability. Leveraging advanced AI technology, Vorto addresses the critical issues of empty miles and idle time in the logistics sector by smartly matching shippers with truckers. This innovative approach not only streamlines supply chain operations but also significantly reduces carbon emissions from trucks, contributing to environmental preservation. Beyond environmental impact, Vorto's technology makes products more affordable for everyday Americans and improves the livelihoods and earnings of approximately 3.5 million truck drivers, who represent the largest entrepreneurial group in the country.

The company operates in a high-energy, fast-paced environment where teamwork and accomplishment are at the core of its culture. Vorto's products are built by a world-class engineering team that simplifies and resolves complex business challenges, reflecting the company's commitment to technological excellence and innovation. With over one million shipments annually and more than one billion dollars of freight under management, Vorto has maintained cash flow positivity since its inception. The company is backed by Golden Gate Capital, a premier private equity firm based in San Francisco with a diverse portfolio and over fifteen billion dollars in committed capital.

For professionals passionate about operational excellence and innovation in the supply chain industry, Vorto offers a unique opportunity to join a mission-driven team dedicated to creating meaningful change.

We are currently seeking a Senior Director of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) and Department of Transportation (DOT) compliance to join our diverse and impactful team. This leadership role is located across multiple sites including Denver, CO; Odessa, TX; Oklahoma City, OK; San Antonio, TX; Dallas, TX; Shreveport, LA; and Houston, TX. The Senior Director of HSE/DOT will play a pivotal role in bringing AI to supply chains within some of the world's largest companies and ensuring unparalleled safety measures across the trucking industry.

As a culture-first organization, Vorto emphasizes the maintenance and growth of its team-oriented environment and values leaders who thrive in entrepreneurial and dynamic settings. The Senior Director will lead and mentor multiple teams involved in carrier auditing, claims, and field HSE/DOT operations, maximizing safety protocols and regulatory compliance. This position is crucial in managing compliance for approximately 1,000 brokered motor carriers and ensuring adherence to state and national HSE/DOT regulations.

The role involves significant field travel—up to 75%—to provide hands-on oversight and engagement with drivers and carriers. The Senior Director will also spearhead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and the development of equipment inspection programs for leased assets. This position commands an ability to communicate effectively across various stakeholders, including customers, government officials, and internal teams. With a competitive salary range between $170,000 and $195,000, Vorto not only offers financial reward but also an opportunity for profound professional growth and contribution to a meaningful mission.
