Job Description
The Red Sox Foundation stands as one of the largest team charities within Major League Baseball, uniquely positioned to leverage its platform to generate hope and positivity beyond the baseball field. This esteemed nonprofit organization operates with a clear mission focused on impactful programs centered around health, education, and recreation. As a 501(c)(3) organization, the Foundation combines direct-service programming alongside grant-making initiatives and valuable core partnerships to multiply its influence threefold across New England and Lee County, Florida. The passion and commitment of the best fans in baseball fuel the Foundation's ongoing efforts to enrich lives and foster community development in meaningful ways.
The Development & Events Senior Coordinator plays a crucial role in supporting the foundation's mission by driving the planning, sales, and strategic operations surrounding its diverse array of events. These events are instrumental in mobilizing individuals, corporations, and organizations towards engagement and philanthropic contributions. The Foundation's major events include, but are not limited to, the renowned Boston Marathon, Fantasy Day, Fenway To The Runway, Monster Mash, Run To Home Base, Picnic in the Park, and Sam Deck Concert Parties. This full-time position provides an exciting opportunity to be involved in high-impact charitable events that directly support vital outreach and community betterment programs. With a base salary ranging from $55,000 to $65,000, commensurate with experience as per Boston's Pay Transparency laws, this role offers a competitive and rewarding career path within nonprofit development and event management.
This role offers a sophisticated blend of responsibilities spanning operational support and strategic development. The role includes managing the comprehensive logistics and marketing efforts for over 20 foundation events and activations, providing vital oversight during execution and post-event processes. It demands a proactive approach to communications with multiple stakeholders across departments and external partners to foster seamless event delivery and successful fundraising outcomes. The role also extends to managing fundraising initiatives such as the Boston Marathon Team communications and auction redemptions, requiring meticulous tracking, reporting, and coordination.
Moreover, the Senior Coordinator will oversee in-kind donation solicitations that contribute to lowering event costs and enhancing guest experiences. Administrative support for the development team and participation in in-park, game-day duties further enhance the dynamic nature of this position. Ideal candidates will thrive in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments and demonstrate strong organizational, communication, and critical thinking skills. Ultimately, this position serves as a vital link between the Foundation’s strategic goals and its community impact, making it an exceptional opportunity for individuals passionate about charitable outreach and nonprofit event development.
