Job Requirements

  • full time availability and schedule flexibility
  • experience in healthcare kitchen environment preferred
  • food handler's certification or willingness to obtain certification
  • ability to comply with health and safety regulations
  • ability to perform physical tasks related to cooking and cleaning

Job Qualifications

  • experience in patient care, patient cooking, healthcare kitchen safety, and food safety preferred
  • ability to follow established recipes and food safety protocols
  • experience with HACCP guidelines and sanitation procedures
  • leadership skills to oversee food service associates
  • strong organizational skills for food storage and labeling
  • capability to operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely and efficiently

Job Duties

  • oversee the cooking activities of food service associates as assigned by Food Service Director
  • prepare various entrees and menu items following established recipes
  • operate and clean equipment after each use
  • perform scheduled routine cleaning
  • store, label and date food items according to policy
  • help maintain organized storage of dry goods and refrigerated and frozen products
  • follow HACCP guidelines to ensure quality and safety of food supply
  • comply with federal, state and local health and sanitation regulations and department sanitation procedures
  • assist Food Service Director in maintaining accurate daily production records and complete all required documentation, reports, and logs as assigned
  • assist in the cross training of employees
  • perform other duties as assigned
