Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of three years of experience as a cook
  • Knowledge of HACCP food safety guidelines
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to handle stressful work conditions
  • Physical ability to perform bending, stooping, climbing, lifting and standing as required
  • Willingness to follow standard recipes and production guidelines
  • Flexibility to work day shifts

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Three years of experience as a cook
  • Ability to follow food safety and sanitation protocols
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Experience with menu development
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Critical thinking and problem solving skills

Job Duties

  • Assist with the development of menus for patients, physicians, cafeteria and catering services
  • Adhere to all applicable HACCP guidelines regarding requisition, storage, handling and preparation of food
  • Oversee scheduled meal preparation, presentation and timely execution to ensure quality, safety and service of the planned menu
  • Follow, monitor and ensure accountability of standardized recipes in preparation of all food
  • Complete required production records
  • Review menu and special orders to determine types and quantities of food items to be prepared
  • Communicate to departmental leadership any shortages or concerns
  • Assist departmental leadership with staff scheduling, problem solving, interviewing and evaluations
