The role of Senior Cook at Sodexo is an integral position within their food service operations. This full-time opportunity offers varying shift schedules with open availability preferred, ranging from $8.00 to $27.00 per hour. As a Senior Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and creating nutritious, high-quality dishes for multiple meal periods including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and catered special events. Your expertise in classical and contemporary cooking techniques will help produce meals that not only meet but exceed customer expectations. Working closely with your team, you will serve as a role model by leading food preparation, overseeing production staff, training team members, and ensuring a safe, healthy kitchen environment.

Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • minimum 4 years of cooking experience in a professional kitchen
  • ability to work varying shifts including weekends and holidays
  • physical ability to stand for prolonged periods and perform kitchen tasks
  • open availability preferred
  • adherence to food safety and sanitation regulations
  • reliable attendance and punctuality

Job Qualifications

  • team-oriented and adaptable with strong reliability
  • 4 or more years of related work experience preferred
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • proficiency with classical and contemporary cooking techniques
  • strong ability to follow complex recipes and directions
  • experience training or supervising kitchen staff is advantageous
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Job Duties

  • Accurately and efficiently prepare portion cook and present a variety of hot and/or cold food items for various meal periods including breakfast lunch dinner and special/catered events
  • follow complex recipes and/or product directions
  • produce small to large batch goods using advanced and full range of classical and contemporary cooking plating and garnishing techniques
  • may have oversight over the production staff train and assign tasks
  • attend work and show for scheduled shift on time with satisfactory regularity
  • perform other duties as assigned which can differ among accounts depending on business necessities and client requirements
