The Senior Cook role at Sodexo's Centenary College of Louisiana location is a full-time position with an hourly pay range of $16.00 to $21.00. This role is integral to the food service team, responsible for preparing and presenting nutritious and high-quality meals across various meal periods including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special catered events. As a Senior Cook, you will be expected to bring your passion for food, creativity, and dedication to outstanding customer service. This position requires adaptability with varying shifts and open availability preferred to support the dynamic scheduling needs of the college dining services. The Senior Cook will operate using both classical and contemporary cooking techniques to produce dishes that meet Sodexo’s standards for quality and safety.
In this role, the Senior Cook will be a team leader helping to reduce food waste and train other kitchen production staff. Collaboration and reliability are essential as you contribute to maintaining a healthy and safe working environment. You will follow complex recipes, manage production batch sizes, and ensure timely preparation and presentation of meals. Beyond cooking, this role involves oversight responsibilities, including training and assigning tasks to junior cooks, ensuring compliance with food safety guidelines, and contributing to the overall positive dining experience of customers. Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- minimum 4 years of relevant cooking experience preferred
- ability to work varying shifts including days, evenings, and weekends
- open availability preferred
- strong communication skills
- ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks related to cooking
- knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices

- 4 or more years of related work experience preferred

Job Duties
- Accurately and efficiently prepare, portion, cook, and present a variety of hot and/or cold food items for various meal periods including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special/catered events
- follow complex recipes and/or product directions
- produce small to large batch goods using advanced and full range of classical and contemporary cooking, plating and garnishing techniques
- provide oversight over production staff, train and assign tasks
- attend work and show for scheduled shift on time with satisfactory regularity
- perform other duties as assigned based on business needs and client requirements
