Job Description
J.B. Hunt Transport Services, Inc. is a renowned and leading transportation logistics company in the United States, specializing in full truckload, intermodal, and dedicated contract services. Established with a commitment to excellence, J.B. Hunt has grown into one of the largest and most trusted providers in the trucking industry, known for its innovative approach and outstanding customer service. The company is deeply invested in its workforce and continually seeks qualified professionals to strengthen its team.
As a semi-local CDL-A driver for J.B. Hunt, you will become part of the Dedicated Contract Services® division, where you will be assigned to a single customer, ensuring consistent freight and reliable deliveries. This role is designed for drivers who prefer a more localized route structure with frequent home time, enhancing work-life balance and job satisfaction. J.B. Hunt offers an activity-based pay plan that motivates drivers through safety, efficiency, and dedication. The salary averages around $82,500 annually, combining hourly wages with several bonus opportunities tied to mileage, stops, detentions, and training.
The position is full-time and emphasizes safety and compliance, offering paid online orientation and training sessions that prepare drivers for success. Drivers benefit from onsite management and a network that supports their professional growth and daily challenges. J.B. Hunt values its drivers' wellbeing, providing paid time off from day one and access to comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance after just 30 days of employment. The company also offers retirement savings through a 401(k) plan with matching contributions, life insurance options, mental health support, and disability benefits.
In this role, you will experience a variety of pay components such as cent per mile rates ranging from $0.52 to $0.90, detention pay, delivery and inbound stop pay, shuttle pay, and extra earnings for mechanical breakdowns and power unit waiting periods. Frequent home time and paid holiday rates add further value to the compensation package. This opportunity is ideal for drivers who are dedicated, safety-conscious, and eager to work with a single customer in a supportive environment.
J.B. Hunt is committed to inclusivity and equal employment opportunities, considering candidates with diverse backgrounds, including veterans and individuals with disabilities. The hiring process includes a conditional offer subject to a criminal background check compliant with local fair chance ordinances. Overall, working at J.B. Hunt as a CDL-A semi-local driver means joining a stable, reputable company that prioritizes driver satisfaction, career development, and competitive pay.
