Episcopal Retirement Services (ERS) is a highly respected and award-winning senior living provider based in Cincinnati, Ohio. For 16 consecutive years, ERS has been recognized as one of Cincinnati's Top Employers, a testament to its outstanding company culture, employee satisfaction, and commitment to excellence. ERS operates compassionate and person-centered retirement communities where residents can live life on their own terms, supported by a team who values their dignity and individuality. The organization prides itself on fostering an inclusive and collaborative work environment that encourages personal and professional growth. ERS also deeply values the contributions of its security professionals, recognizing their pivotal role in maintaining a safe and welcoming atmosphere for all residents and staff.
This specific role, Security Guard, is a part-time position aligned with the first shift schedule and requires working Every Other Weekend (E/O Wknd). It offers an excellent opportunity for security professionals who want the flexibility to make extra money without a rigid schedule. The chosen candidate will be joining a team that is passionate about providing peace of mind to residents by protecting their home environment and supporting emergency preparedness.
The Security Guard will be responsible for supporting and executing the facility's security programs according to policies and procedures established by the Residential Services Manager or Security Supervisor. This is a unique position that blends vigilant monitoring of safety equipment such as security cameras and medical alert systems, along with direct interaction and support for residents. The guard will conduct regular patrols of the entire facility independently within required time frames, diligently log visitor activity, report any unsafe conditions or incidents, and assist residents during emergencies including evacuations.
Furthermore, the role encompasses assisting residents during entry and exit from the facility and providing valet parking for guest vehicles when needed. The Security Guard will also participate actively in ERS's Emergency and Disaster Plan, demonstrating leadership in ensuring resident safety during critical situations by employing approved lift and carry evacuation techniques. The role demands an individual with keen observational skills, decisiveness, physical stamina, and excellent communication abilities in English.
This position is vital in ensuring that the ERS facility remains a secure, safe, and supportive environment where residents can thrive. Ideal candidates will bring a compassionate and patient approach to working with older adults across all acuity and behavioral levels, work harmoniously with other team members, and be able to perform physical tasks such as bending, lifting (up to 50 pounds occasionally), and patrolling stairways and buildings independently. Valid driver’s license and the ability to transport residents safely in ERS vehicles are also essential.
In summary, this Security Guard role at Episcopal Retirement Services offers a meaningful and flexible part-time opportunity to contribute to a supportive community setting where safety and resident well-being are paramount. ERS’s commitment to an award-winning culture and equal employment opportunities makes this an inspiring workplace for professionals dedicated to making a real difference in the lives of seniors.
