Job Description

Marriott International is a globally recognized hospitality company with a reputation for excellence in service, innovation, and employee engagement. The Torrance Marriott Redondo Beach, located at 3635 Fashion Way, Torrance, California, is part of this esteemed portfolio. Known for delivering exceptional guest experiences, this Marriott location prides itself on creating a secure, welcoming, and comfortable environment for both guests and employees. As a leader in the hotel industry, Marriott International fosters a culture that values diversity, inclusion, and the well-being of its associates, promoting a supportive and collaborative work environment.

This full-time management position at the Torrance Marriott Redondo Beach offers an annual salary range of $70,310 to $86,000 and includes eligibility for bonuses. The role primarily focuses on overseeing the loss prevention and security department to ensure the safety and protection of the hotel's assets, guests, and team members. As the manager responsible for daily departmental functions, the position demands a comprehensive approach to risk management, compliance with safety regulations, and operational excellence.

The Loss Prevention Manager will be tasked with maintaining important documentation such as logs and certifications to comply with legal requirements and the hotel’s Standard Operating Procedures. Training staff on emergency procedures like accident prevention and fire safety is crucial to the role, which emphasizes readiness and proactive risk mitigation. The manager must ensure seamless communication and cooperation between departments, maintaining high standards of service and safety that align with Marriott’s commitment to hospitality excellence.

Furthermore, this role involves conducting risk assessments and safety audits, including quarterly OSHA/Safety audits, hazard abatement, and incident tracking, to identify vulnerabilities and implement appropriate corrective measures. Managing the property’s security systems, including CCTV, alarms, and electronic access controls, falls under the manager’s responsibility, ensuring these tools are functional and effectively deployed to deter crime and protect assets.

Operational leadership extends to overseeing accident prevention committees, managing first aid programs, and monitoring workers’ compensation and general liability claims to safeguard company interests. This position is also pivotal in fostering a culture of safety awareness among employees, effectively communicating safety standards, and encouraging cooperation among team members to uphold a secure and professional environment.

The role requires a high level of interpersonal and leadership skills, as the manager will act as a role model demonstrating integrity, sound decision-making, and assertive hospitality. Handling conflicts, resolving disputes, and maintaining guest satisfaction are integral to the position. Building relationships with local law enforcement and emergency services is also key to ensuring swift and coordinated responses in critical situations.

At Marriott, every associate is valued, with a strong dedication to equal opportunity and a respectful, inclusive workplace. This role offers the chance to be part of a globally recognized hospitality leader with abundant opportunities for professional growth and development. Joining the Loss Prevention Management team at the Torrance Marriott Redondo Beach means contributing to a safe, welcoming atmosphere grounded in Marriott’s legendary commitment to "Wonderful Hospitality. Always."
