The role of Patrol Officer within Huntsville Hospital Health System is vital to maintaining a safe and secure environment for patients, staff, and visitors. Serving as a patrol officer, the incumbent is responsible for a variety of security functions across hospital facilities, including observing and monitoring activities, reporting incidents, and responding swiftly to security concerns. This position requires proficiency in patrol techniques and the ability to manage security incidents effectively to ensure the safety and well-being of all hospital occupants.

Beyond traditional security responsibilities, the Patrol Officer may also be called upon to perform additional duties such as greeting visitors, valet parking, transporting patients within the hospital complex, or assisting as a cashier in the garage booth when necessary. This multifaceted role requires excellent customer service skills, adaptability, and a proactive approach to security and hospital operations.

Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or GED
  • successful completion of Huntsville Hospital P.R.I.D.E. Academy
  • valid driver’s license and insurable by HH standards
  • ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • excellent customer service and communication skills
  • ability to prioritize and multitask
  • some computer skills needed

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or GED

  • completion of Huntsville Hospital P.R.I.D.E. Academy required
  • security, military, or law enforcement experience preferred
  • customer service experience
  • possession of a valid driver’s license
  • supervisory experience preferred
  • healthcare experience preferred
  • ability to use word processing and spreadsheet applications
  • excellent communication skills

Job Duties
