The position available is that of a Wine Bar Server who will play a pivotal role in enhancing guest experiences during a variety of exciting events throughout the busy summer months. This is a flex-time, event-driven role ideally suited for hospitality professionals passionate about wine and service. Employment is flexible but requires commitment to at least two events per month with opportunities during private soccer watch parties, onsite events, We Rise hosted gatherings, as well as offsite tradeshows and conferences. The hourly wage is competitive at $21.30 plus tips, reflecting the value We Rise Wines places on excellent service and knowledgeable staff.

As a Wine Bar Server, you will be the face of the company at various events, responsible for greeting and seating guests with a warm and friendly demeanor. You will manage the setup and breakdown of event spaces, possibly transporting necessary materials to and from event locations. A critical element of the role involves delivering exceptional service by providing outstanding wine and food service, engaging customers with engaging storytelling rooted in the brands and wines represented by We Rise Wines. Mastery of wine knowledge is essential, as is the ability to offer tailored wine recommendations and explain the background of featured winemakers to deepen guests' appreciation.

Efficiency and professionalism are key in serving food and beverages promptly while maintaining a clean, organized work environment. Strict adherence to food safety and sanitation guidelines is mandatory. The role demands anticipation of guest needs and proactive responses to ensure a memorable experience. Collaboration with the event team to ensure seamless execution is vital, requiring flexibility and excellent communication under sometimes fast-paced and high-pressure conditions. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proven experience in event serving or hospitality
  • Strong knowledge of wine and spirits
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Flexibility to work evenings weekends and holidays
  • Valid MAST permit
  • Valid food workers permit
  • TIPS certification or willingness to obtain
  • Passion for wine
  • Commitment to at least 2 events per month
  • Must be 21 years or older

Job Qualifications

  • Proven experience as an event server or server in a restaurant or bar setting
  • Strong knowledge of wine and spirits including basic wine tasting and pairing techniques
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility to work evenings weekends and holidays
  • Valid MAST permit
  • Valid food workers permit
  • TIPS certification or willingness to obtain
  • Passion for wine and a desire to share that passion with others
  • Can commit to 2 events per month when needed
  • Age 21 and over

Job Duties
