Job Description

The Lodge is a distinguished resort nestled in the vibrant heart of Sonoma, California, just steps away from the historic and charming Sonoma Plaza. This establishment beautifully captures the essence of the region's rich heritage through hand-crafted details that honor centuries of local craftsmanship. Guests at The Lodge experience an authentic connection to Sonoma's unique culture, with programming that highlights the meticulous processes behind world-renowned local products such as wine, art, and olive oil. The staff at The Lodge are not only highly skilled but also deeply passionate about the region, creating a welcoming environment where visitors feel like locals and locals feel like friends. This strong sense of community and pride in the location enhances every guest's stay and ensures a memorable and intimate experience.

The Lodge is currently seeking a dedicated Valet Attendant to join their hospitality team on a full-time basis. This role plays a crucial part in maintaining the high standard of guest service synonymous with the resort. Valet Attendants at The Lodge provide courteous and efficient valet parking services, assisting guests from the moment they arrive until their departure. The position requires a proactive and friendly individual who can meet and greet guests with professionalism, assist with luggage, and ensure vehicles are handled safely and securely. A thorough understanding of customer service principles is essential, along with a strong knowledge of the local area to provide guests with accurate recommendations and directions. The role demands reliability, excellent communication skills, and a flexible approach to meet the dynamic needs of hotel guests. The Lodge offers competitive compensation for this role, with an hourly wage of $18.47, reflecting the importance of the position within the guest experience framework.

In this role, the Valet Attendant will work under general supervision and be responsible for creating a seamless first and last impression for guests by delivering prompt and courteous services. Duties include assisting guests with vehicle parking and retrieval, noting and reporting any pre-existing vehicle damage, and providing helpful information about the resort and surrounding community. Valet Attendants also support the Doorman by greeting guests and escorting them and their luggage to the registration area for check-in. The ability to safely operate both automatic and manual vehicles, along with a valid driver's license and compliant driving record, are mandatory requirements for the position.

Physical stamina is necessary as the job involves prolonged standing, walking, carrying heavy packages up to 65 pounds, and exposure to outdoor elements while performing mainly indoor duties. The Lodge fosters a workplace culture that values professionalism, teamwork, and a genuine passion for hospitality and the Sonoma community. This role is an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking to develop their career in the hospitality industry within a renowned resort setting that emphasizes local tradition and offers stable employment with competitive pay. Prospective candidates are encouraged to bring a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and commitment to excellence in guest services to this rewarding position.
