Job Description

Brewery Ommegang is a renowned leader in the high-end beer segment and is proud to be part of the Duvel Moortgat family of breweries, which also includes Duvel USA and Boulevard Brewing Company. As the fourth largest craft brewery by volume in the United States, Brewery Ommegang combines craftsmanship, tradition, and passion to produce exceptional beers and ciders. The company prides itself on its people, who are deeply devoted to maintaining the highest quality standards and delivering outstanding products to customers. With a commitment to sustainability, innovation, and community engagement, Brewery Ommegang has built a strong reputation for excellence in the craft beer industry.

The Brewery Ommegang Tap House is currently looking to expand its stellar team with enthusiastic and energetic individuals for positions such as Hosts and Food Runners. These roles are integral to creating memorable experiences for guests, ensuring efficient operation, and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere. Employment at the Tap House is hourly with a compensation rate of $17.00 per hour. The nature of these positions requires standing for extended periods and a flexible schedule that includes holidays, nights, and weekends. The high season usually spans from early May through early October, which is a particularly busy and dynamic time.

The Host role focuses on greeting and seating customers to optimize dining room space and maximize the efficiency of the wait staff. Hosts are responsible for maintaining the café waitlist, answering general inquiries, assisting with bussing duties, and supporting servers and front-of-house leads when necessary. This position calls for excellent communication skills, the ability to multitask under pressure, and a strong work ethic. Hosts also manage to-go orders via the POS system and maintain cleanliness in the café and restrooms, contributing to an enjoyable customer experience.

Food Runners play a vital role in supporting the kitchen and front-of-house staff. Their responsibilities include setting tables, delivering food orders quickly and accurately, and clearing used dishes and utensils. Food Runners act as the crucial link between the kitchen and dining room, communicating food orders, accommodating special requests, and maintaining adherence to food safety standards. The job also involves stocking stations, handling end-of-day cleanup, and sharing knowledge about the company’s beer offerings. Candidates interested in gaining experience in the restaurant industry and enhancing their customer service skills will find this role particularly rewarding.

Both positions require teamwork, physical stamina, and a passion for providing outstanding service in a fast-paced environment. The company is committed to offering a respectful and inclusive workplace for all employees and encourages applicants from diverse backgrounds. Brewing knowledge is a bonus, given the company’s strong identity rooted in quality beer production, but a genuine enthusiasm to learn is equally valued. The Brewery Ommegang Tap House offers a dynamic work environment where every team member contributes to the shared success and customer satisfaction, making it a great opportunity for those seeking meaningful employment in the hospitality and craft beer industries.
