Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior housekeeping or cleaning experience preferred
  • ability to lift and carry objects up to 45 pounds independently and heavier items with assistance
  • capability to operate vacuum cleaners, carpet cleaners, and powered cleaning equipment
  • willingness to work flexible seasonal schedules
  • ability to follow safety protocols
  • good communication skills
  • current driver's license recommended
  • eligibility to pass background checks including National Agency Check and Inquiries (NACI)
  • must be able to register with Selective Service if applicable
  • willingness to work in a drug-free environment
  • ability to work indoors under normal conditions
  • ability to stand for extended periods, bend, stoop, and climb ladders
  • ability to move heavy furniture with assistance

Job Qualifications

  • Knowledge of proper care and maintenance of carpets and furniture
  • ability to handle and control heavy powered equipment
  • knowledge of proper uses of a variety of special cleaning and sanitizing solutions
  • ability to remove different kinds of stains from a wide variety of surfaces
  • ability to read and understand directions on labels and printed instructions
  • ability to anticipate needs of guests and clients
  • good oral and written communication skills
  • ability to organize and multi-task
  • work is performed independently according to policies
  • physical ability to stand, bend, stoop, reach, lift, and move heavy objects
  • familiarity with safety regulations and standards

Job Duties

  • Makes beds, changes sheets, towels, and other linens
  • thoroughly cleans guest rooms including dusting, waxing, and polishing furniture
  • sweeps floors, vacuums, and shampoos rugs
  • empties wastebaskets and sanitizes lavatories
  • washes walls and windows using ladders
  • dusts drapes, blinds, and window coverings
  • turns mattresses and sanitizes all fixtures and bedding
  • services each room daily with soap, cups, coffee, etc.
  • reports missing or broken articles to supervisor
  • occasionally scrubs, strips, waxes, and polishes floors using heavy powered scrubbers and buffers
  • washes and replaces window coverings
  • moves heavy furniture with assistance
  • provides courteous and friendly customer service
  • assists customers and solves problems quickly
  • adheres to safety regulations and reports hazards
  • supports EEO principles and prevention of sexual harassment
  • performs other related duties as assigned
