Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- prior housekeeping or cleaning experience preferred
- ability to lift and carry objects up to 45 pounds independently and heavier items with assistance
- capability to operate vacuum cleaners, carpet cleaners, and powered cleaning equipment
- willingness to work flexible seasonal schedules
- ability to follow safety protocols
- good communication skills
- current driver's license recommended
- eligibility to pass background checks including National Agency Check and Inquiries (NACI)
- must be able to register with Selective Service if applicable
- willingness to work in a drug-free environment
- ability to work indoors under normal conditions
- ability to stand for extended periods, bend, stoop, and climb ladders
- ability to move heavy furniture with assistance
Job Qualifications
- Knowledge of proper care and maintenance of carpets and furniture
- ability to handle and control heavy powered equipment
- knowledge of proper uses of a variety of special cleaning and sanitizing solutions
- ability to remove different kinds of stains from a wide variety of surfaces
- ability to read and understand directions on labels and printed instructions
- ability to anticipate needs of guests and clients
- good oral and written communication skills
- ability to organize and multi-task
- work is performed independently according to policies
- physical ability to stand, bend, stoop, reach, lift, and move heavy objects
- familiarity with safety regulations and standards
Job Duties
- Makes beds, changes sheets, towels, and other linens
- thoroughly cleans guest rooms including dusting, waxing, and polishing furniture
- sweeps floors, vacuums, and shampoos rugs
- empties wastebaskets and sanitizes lavatories
- washes walls and windows using ladders
- dusts drapes, blinds, and window coverings
- turns mattresses and sanitizes all fixtures and bedding
- services each room daily with soap, cups, coffee, etc.
- reports missing or broken articles to supervisor
- occasionally scrubs, strips, waxes, and polishes floors using heavy powered scrubbers and buffers
- washes and replaces window coverings
- moves heavy furniture with assistance
- provides courteous and friendly customer service
- assists customers and solves problems quickly
- adheres to safety regulations and reports hazards
- supports EEO principles and prevention of sexual harassment
- performs other related duties as assigned
