The role of a certified Safelite Repair Specialist I focuses on utilizing state-of-the-art technology to perform vehicle glass repairs including chips, cracks, and other related issues. This position is designed for individuals eager to learn and develop their skills in auto glass repair through both classroom instruction and hands-on training. A strong emphasis is placed on mastering the Safelite Way of Fitting, ensuring that every repair meets the highest quality standards and customer expectations. Responsibilities include managing customer documentation through mobile resource management technology, operating tools and chemicals safely, and maintaining excellent customer communication throughout the repair process. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
  • Valid state-issued driver’s license and any other required licenses to operate company vehicle
  • Completion of Safelite SafeTech certification required
  • Age 18 or older
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs and assist with heavier windshields
  • Ability to stand, bend, and twist for extended periods
  • Safe operation of hand and power tools
  • Ability to operate motor vehicles complying with laws and company monitoring
  • Willingness to work outside in various weather conditions
  • Ability to handle flammable chemicals safely
  • Flexibility in work schedule start and end times
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to read, write and understand English
  • Effective verbal and written communication
  • Professional appearance and compliance with uniform policies
  • Ability to maintain performance under pressure

Job Duties

  • Learn to repair vehicle glass in the classroom and hands-on with focus on the Safelite Way of Fitting under guidance of experienced technicians and leaders
  • Repair chips, cracks and other auto glass related issues on customer vehicles
  • Manage work orders, customer documentation and communication using Safelite handheld Mobile Resource Management technology
  • Promote and sell Safelite promotional items to customers
  • Clean customer vehicle and perform housekeeping tasks during wait and idle times
  • Safely operate company and customer vehicles and tools
  • Comply with all company policies and standards
  • Perform other assigned duties
