The Parks and Recreation Department plays a pivotal role in this mission by offering programs, facilities, and events that encourage active participation from individuals of all ages. The department's seasonal Pop-Up Park initiative is designed to bring families and community members together through fun, interactive games and activities held outdoors in accessible park areas.

This position is a seasonal opportunity, typically running from May through August, with occasional on-call events that may occur in April, September, or October. The role requires a flexible schedule, including availability for varied times throughout the day, as well as some nights and weekends. The successful candidate will work closely with the Pop-Up Park to assist with the rental and setup of activity equipment, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants. The primary responsibility of this role is to manage the equipment and supervise guests engaging in a range of park-based entertainment activities such as Spike Ball, Volleyball, Bags/Cornhole, Checkers, Connect-4, and other fun games.

They are expected to possess excellent communication skills to effectively instruct guests on game rules and to maintain an organized and safe environment during events. Additionally, the position demands a friendly and outgoing personality that can attract attention to the activity equipment and encourage participation. This role offers a wonderful opportunity for individuals who enjoy working outdoors, engaging with the community, and contributing to memorable recreational experiences.

This position is part-time and seasonal, offering a unique summertime job experience that combines customer service, event assistance, and recreational facilitation. It provides a valuable chance to gain experience in community event management and recreation while working for a respected local government entity.
