Currently, the company is seeking a dedicated Seasonal Pool Supervisor / Food & Beverage Supervisor to join the Spanish Hills Club team. The role offers a seasonal, leadership-focused opportunity centered on elevating the poolside hospitality experience during the active pool season.

The Seasonal Pool Supervisor / Food & Beverage Supervisor position epitomizes a hospitality-driven leadership role with a strong focus on overseeing food and beverage operations within the Club’s pool facility. The individual in this role holds responsibility for crafting an exceptional member and guest atmosphere, ensuring seamless poolside food and beverage service, supervising seasonal team members, supporting daily operational activities, and maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment throughout the pool season. Acting as the on-site leader, this supervisor balances hospitality, service execution, team oversight, member engagement, and pool safety, creating a memorable and high-quality poolside dining experience.

Though pool safety and compliance remain significant duties, the role predominantly prioritizes delivering top-tier poolside dining and beverage services. This includes guaranteeing adherence to service standards, efficient staffing management, and attentive, personalized member interactions. The supervisor collaborates closely with the Food & Beverage leadership team, Pool Manager, and overall Club leadership to ensure the pool area operates efficiently and aligns with the Club's exceptional service directives.

Key responsibilities encompass supervising daily pool operations with an emphasis on hospitality, leading and scheduling seasonal staff including servers, bartenders, and lifeguards, ensuring members receive prompt and professional service, monitoring service quality and cleanliness, assisting with food and beverage operations during peak times, coordinating with kitchen staff for flawless menu execution, and managing service staff appearance and conduct according to Club standards. The supervisor also handles member concerns professionally, oversees pool deck cleanliness and presentation, manages inventory and payroll functions, conducts staff meetings and training sessions, and ensures compliance with food safety, alcohol service, and pool regulations.

This leadership role requires strong organizational, communication, and team management skills to effectively multitask in a dynamic environment, balancing member service, staff supervision, operational oversight, and crisis management. The ability to quickly address member concerns, staff issues, and emergencies while maintaining a welcoming and professional atmosphere is essential. The supervisor reports to the Food & Beverage Manager and General Manager and oversees seasonal pool servers, bartenders, and support staff.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous supervisory experience in food and beverage or hospitality
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends, evenings, and holidays during pool season
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification preferred
  • Lifeguard certification preferred
  • Knowledge of pool safety and health regulations
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with point-of-sale and scheduling systems preferred

Job Qualifications

  • Previous supervisory experience in food & beverage, hospitality, restaurant, club, hotel, or poolside service operations
  • Strong customer service background with a focus on hospitality and member experience
  • Ability to supervise, coach, and motivate seasonal service staff and lifeguard teams
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends, evenings, and holidays during the pool season
  • Current certification in CPR and First Aid preferred
  • Lifeguard certification preferred but not required
  • Knowledge of pool safety procedures, health regulations, and emergency response preferred
  • Experience with point-of-sale systems, scheduling tools, and club management software preferred
  • Food Handler Card and alcohol service certification preferred

Job Duties

  • Supervise the day-to-day operations of the Club pool facility with a primary focus on poolside food and beverage service and hospitality
  • Lead, schedule, train, and supervise seasonal poolside servers, snack bar attendants, bartenders, support staff, and lifeguards
  • Ensure all members and guests receive prompt, professional, and friendly service while utilizing the pool facility
  • Monitor food and beverage service levels throughout the pool area to ensure standards of service, cleanliness, and presentation are consistently met
  • Assist with poolside food and beverage service during busy periods, including taking orders, delivering food and beverages, bussing tables, and supporting staff as needed
  • Coordinate with the kitchen and Food & Beverage team to ensure accurate communication, timely ticket times, and proper execution of poolside menus and specials
  • Ensure all service staff are properly groomed, in uniform, and following Club standards
  • Handle member and guest concerns, complaints, and special requests in a professional and timely manner
  • Monitor pool deck cleanliness, furniture setup, towel stations, cabanas, and overall appearance to ensure a high-end member experience
  • Assist with opening and closing procedures for the pool and food and beverage operation
  • Support inventory management for poolside food, beverage, paper goods, uniforms, and operating supplies
  • Assist with weekly payroll review, scheduling, and labor management for seasonal pool staff
  • Conduct regular staff meetings, pre-shift lineups, and training sessions to reinforce expectations, promotions, safety, and service standards
  • Ensure all local and state laws regarding food safety, alcohol service, and pool operations are consistently followed
  • Maintain accurate incident reports, service logs, staffing records, and operational notes
  • Oversee and support pool safety standards, ensuring lifeguards are attentive, emergency procedures are followed, and the environment remains safe for all members and guests
  • Respond appropriately to emergencies, member incidents, and operational challenges
  • Serve as Manager on Duty for the pool area during assigned shifts
