Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must have previous experience tending bar in a high volume environment
- Fluent spoken and written English
- Ability to stand and exert mobility for periods up to 4 hours
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must provide proof of current eligibility to be employed in the United States
- Basic math skills
- Must be able to communicate clearly and listen attentively to management, employees and guests
Job Qualifications
- Previous luxury hotel or resort experience preferred
- Working knowledge of spirits, cocktails, wine and beer
- Previous customer service experience required
- Previous food and beverage or barista experience preferred
- Previous point of sale system experience preferred
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
- Highly responsible and reliable with minimal supervision
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a small team and independently
- Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
Job Duties
- Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
- Uphold the Fairmont Century Plaza values and mission statement while performing positional responsibilities
- Adhere to company policy and procedures as stated in the company handbook
- Greet guests and escort them to lounge chairs while assisting throughout their pool experience
- Prepare alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages following recipes and guidelines
- Ensure compliance with liquor laws in preparation, serving, and consumption of alcoholic beverages
- Oversee cleanliness and daily upkeep of the pool area and bar prep area
- Control bar costs and waste, maintain accountability both personal and financial
- Close out paperwork thoroughly
- Maintain extensive knowledge of menu and food preparation techniques
- Assist co-workers and managers proactively
- Be familiar with all food outlets and amenities within the property
- Maintain knowledge of general city information and hotel history
- Act as an ambassador for the department, property, and brand
- Perform other duties as assigned
