The Cook 1 position at Invited offers an excellent opportunity to become part of this remarkable team and grow within a prominent private club environment. As an entry-level role within the kitchen, the Cook 1 is responsible for essential food preparation tasks while supporting more experienced team members such as Cook 2s and Cook 3s. This role encompasses setting up and organizing workstations, preparing and storing food items in compliance with Invited’s rigorous standards, maintaining cleanliness and sanitation, and assisting in the production of various menu items. The Cook 1 works closely with kitchen management, including the Kitchen Manager, Sous Chef, and Executive Chef, to ensure smooth kitchen operations and uphold high standards for food quality and presentation.

The Cook 1 plays an integral part in delivering consistent food quality and presentation while maintaining safety and sanitation protocols. Job Requirements

  • Must be able to stand, walk, and perform physical activities for extended periods
  • ability to work in varying temperatures and environments with potential exposure to dust, fumes, or gases
  • capable of climbing ladders, squatting, kneeling, reaching, grasping, twisting, bending, and folding/unfolding as required
  • able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 100 lbs occasionally
  • effective communication skills including talking and hearing with sufficient visual acuity
  • attendance requirements as outlined on weekly schedule
  • flexibility to work additional hours including weekends and holidays
  • must wear a clean, neat uniform meeting club standards

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum of 3 years of experience in a kitchen environment
  • valid Food Handler Certifications as required by state and city regulations
  • strong communication skills with the ability to follow instructions accurately

  • ability to work effectively in team settings
  • willingness to learn and take initiative
  • knowledge of safe food handling and sanitation practices

Job Duties

  • Set-up, execute daily prep tasks, and organize workstation efficiently
  • prepare and store all food items required for the station adhering to Invited’s standards
  • maintain proper cooking techniques and consistent preparation and presentation of menu items
  • receive and store goods purchased by the kitchen
  • manage items used by others such as condiments, dressings, salsa, and soups
  • maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work area and kitchen including equipment and tools
  • communicate with Executive Chef or Sous Chef regarding product needs or food quality issues
  • interact professionally with members and guests accommodating changes and last-minute requests
  • support fellow employees and contribute to a positive team environment
  • address and resolve member and guest complaints professionally notifying management
  • complete additional duties as assigned by management
