Job Description

Molly Moon's Homemade Ice Cream is a beloved local business known for its commitment to community, sustainability, and the highest quality ingredients. Established as a multi-generational gathering place, Molly Moon's has earned a reputation not only for its delicious, handcrafted ice cream but also for fostering a warm and inclusive atmosphere where customers come to enjoy a moment of happiness. The company places a strong emphasis on environmental responsibility, sourcing local ingredients, and building strong local partnerships. This makes Molly Moon's not just a destination for exceptional ice cream, but also a brand dedicated to making a positive impact on the world one scoop at a time.

The Seasonal Ice Cream Maker role at Molly Moon's is a fantastic opportunity for individuals passionate about food, craftsmanship, and teamwork. This position is hourly, offering 25 or more hours per week with a competitive starting wage of $25.00 an hour. As a Seasonal Ice Cream Maker, you will be central to the production process, crafting ice cream and toppings with skill and attention to detail. You'll start your shift planning the day’s production with your chef and then independently execute high-volume batches of signature ice cream treats. The work is fast-paced and hands-on, performed in an energetic kitchen environment alongside chefs, fellow ice cream makers, and hospitality staff.

This position is ideal for detail-oriented multitaskers who take pride in their work and thrive in collaborative environments. You will be responsible for producing between 32 and 64-plus tubs of ice cream per shift, measuring ingredients carefully, following recipes precisely, and maintaining the highest quality control standards through taste testing and quality checks. Your role also includes preparing homemade bases, toppings, and inclusions such as cookie dough, hot fudge, caramel sauces, and fruit compotes.

Adherence to health, safety, and sanitation guidelines is critical, as is maintaining a clean, organized kitchen. The job demands physical stamina — standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 pounds repeatedly, and working in a freezer environment for short durations. Flexibility in scheduling and a cooperative attitude toward shift swaps and working across various kitchen locations make this role especially appealing to those who value adaptability and teamwork.

Molly Moon's offers opportunities for wage growth, including annual cost of living increases tied to the Seattle CPI and merit-based raises. The company is committed to fostering a diverse, inclusive workplace culture where employees embody core values such as being smart, generous, homemade, joyful, and brave. By joining Molly Moon's as a Seasonal Ice Cream Maker, you will not only develop valuable culinary and production skills but also contribute meaningfully to an organization that prioritizes sustainability, quality, and community connection.
