Job Description

Global Connections to Employment (GCE) is a prominent nationwide organization dedicated to providing meaningful employment opportunities for individuals with significant disabilities, including wounded veterans from military service. Established in 1986, GCE has built a remarkable legacy of matching team members with fulfilling career paths across various industries such as custodial services, facilities maintenance, food services, and other business sectors. Partnering with the U.S. military, commercial businesses, community organizations, and federal, state, and local governments, GCE stands as one of the largest private employers of persons with disabilities in the United States. Their mission centers on empowering people with disabilities through gainful employment, fostering independence, and promoting inclusive workplaces that respect and celebrate diversity.

The Maid Service Attendant position offered by GCE is a seasonal role, active from May through October, focusing on providing high-quality housekeeping services in accordance with Air Force Lodging Standards. This role entails safely performing various cleaning duties assigned by management, ensuring customer satisfaction, and constantly upholding the highest quality of service. The Maid Service Attendant works in different facilities that may involve traveling between locations and exposure to varying weather conditions, although most tasks occur indoors. This position requires a strong commitment to understanding and obeying instructions, working collaboratively with customers, government personnel, and fellow team members.

Compensation for the role is competitive, set at $30.01 per hour, which includes a $25.08 base wage plus an additional $4.93 paid as Health and Welfare benefits. These benefits are covered under the Federal Services Contract Act (SCA) and are paid out as additional wages to seasonal team members. The job demands physical activity such as bending, crouching, walking, climbing stairs and ladders, and lifting up to 40 pounds regularly, with occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds. Team members may be required to work flexible hours, including early mornings, mid-mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays, and must be capable of working under emergency operational assignments as needed.

GCE promotes a respectful, safe, and welcoming workplace that offers reasonable accommodations to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions adequately. The organization is committed to diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunity employment, particularly encouraging individuals with disabilities and veterans to apply. The position requires passing thorough screening, including background checks and drug testing, in alignment with organization policy. Applicants interested in joining this rewarding and impactful team can apply online through GCE's careers portal or contact Human Resources for assistance. Joining GCE means contributing to a mission that not only provides employment but also fosters dignity, growth, and community support for people with disabilities.
