Seaport Grille is currently looking to hire friendly and efficient Hosts and Hostesses who are passionate about customer service and eager to contribute to a positive guest experience. This role requires individuals who can manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously while maintaining a warm and professional demeanor. The primary duty is to greet guests with sincerity and assist them promptly by seating them in a timely manner and ensuring that the dining room tables are arranged evenly to support the serving team. Hosts and Hostesses at Seaport Grille play a vital role in managing guest flow, communicating guest needs to management and staff, and maintaining the overall ambiance of the dining area.

Applicants for this role should have at least one year of experience working in a high-volume restaurant environment, preferably with some background in customer service. The job demands flexibility in work hours, including availability during nights, weekends, and holidays, which are peak times for the restaurant. Essential physical capabilities such as standing for long periods, ability to lift up to 30 pounds, and comfort working in outdoor and indoor restaurant areas amid fluctuating weather conditions are required.

The position offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $17 to $18, reflecting the importance of the Host and Hostess in creating an excellent dining atmosphere. Job Requirements

  • Ability to stand for eight hours
  • Ability to walk and stand approximately 90 percent of shift
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds on a regular and continuous basis
  • Must be available to work nights weekends and holidays
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in a fast-paced restaurant environment

Job Qualifications

  • At least one year of experience in a high-volume restaurant
  • Previous experience in customer service preferred
  • Ability to multi-task and deliver outstanding guest service
  • Strong communication skills
  • Familiarity with menu items and restaurant operations
  • Ability to maintain clean and organized work areas
  • Ability to work nights weekends and holidays

Job Duties

  • Meet and greet guests upon arrival offering choice of seating and escort to the table with a presentation of the menu
  • Maintain proper set-up of dining room including even distribution of tables for the team
  • Read maintain and make entries into the logbook to communicate between shifts and with management
  • Communicate any large party requests or special arrangements to the Manager on Duty
  • Be thoroughly familiar with menu items and related materials
  • Ensure all menus are in pristine condition free of stains
  • Answer the telephone and respond to guest inquiries in a warm genuine tone
  • Communicate with staff regarding special requests needs of a guest including allergies
  • Complete all listed open side-work and closing checklists cleaning checklists and duties related to shift
  • Close out and check out with manager once shift is complete
  • Assist team members as needed to promote a teamwork environment
