Job Description
The City of Billings, Montana is a vibrant community known for its commitment to providing exceptional public services and recreational opportunities to its residents and visitors. The Parks, Recreation, & Public Lands Department plays a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing these opportunities, ensuring that the community has access to safe, enjoyable, and well-maintained recreational facilities. Among these facilities is the city pool, a popular destination during the warmer months for families, individuals, and swimming enthusiasts looking to cool off, socialize, and stay active. The department is dedicated to fostering a welcoming and efficient environment at the pool, which is vital for community engagement and satisfaction.
We are currently seeking a highly responsible and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Head Cashier for the pool season. This seasonal position, based in Billings, MT, offers an hourly rate of $15.00 and is scheduled to run from late May through the end of August, providing a fantastic opportunity to be part of a dynamic team during the summer months. The Head Cashier will play an essential role in managing the daily admission operations, including overseeing cashier staff and ensuring excellent customer service.
As Head Cashier, you will be the leader responsible for training, supervising, and supporting a team of pool cashiers. Your keen eye for detail will help maintain accurate cash handling procedures and financial records, including completing nightly deposits and audits. Additionally, your ability to manage crowds and maintain a professional, friendly demeanor will directly contribute to a positive visitor experience. This position requires someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, can multitask effectively, and is committed to upholding the high standards of the Parks, Recreation, & Public Lands Department.
This role offers the chance to develop and showcase leadership skills in a real-world setting, managing not only the operational aspects of pool admissions but also contributing to crowd control and guest relations. While this is a seasonal role with a max of 40 hours per week on a flexible schedule that covers afternoons and evenings throughout the week, it provides invaluable experience in supervision, customer service, and cash management. Candidates must be at least 18 years old and legally authorized to work in the United States full-time.
While the position does not include additional benefits, it affords the opportunity to be part of a spirited and professional summer team committed to delivering an excellent recreational experience. If you are dependable, have strong organizational skills, and enjoy working in a dynamic environment where you can make a direct impact on the community's enjoyment and safety, we encourage you to apply for this rewarding seasonal opportunity.
