Job Description

As a diverse hospitality company, Sonesta operates a unique blend of full-service and focused service hotels located in major urban centers worldwide. With more than 1000 properties spanning eight countries, Sonesta is recognized for its commitment to delivering passionate and human-centered hospitality experiences. This distinguished company is known for its loyalty to guests, dedication to quality, and its promise to provide value-driven, memorable stays wherever they operate. Sonesta’s portfolio includes owned, managed, and franchised hotels, representing a broad range of hospitality services designed to meet the needs of all types of travelers—whether business or leisure. The company culture revolves around the principle “Together We Thrive” which embodies their mission to promote teamwork, quality service, and guest satisfaction at every level of operation.

The role of Guest Service Agent (GSA) at Sonesta International Hotels is a key seasonal position that supports the hotel’s peak operational periods, with employment anticipated through the end of September. This role is ideal for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment and possess a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences. As the first and primary point of contact for guests, the GSA plays a critical role in maintaining the brand’s reputation by offering friendly, professional, and efficient service at the front desk. The Guest Service Agent is responsible for overseeing front desk operations, utilizing hotel technology systems, and supporting the Operations Manager to ensure smooth daily functioning. Key responsibilities include registering guests, processing payments, handling reservations, and responding to guest inquiries promptly and courteously. Additionally, GSAs are entrusted with ensuring security protocols are followed for cash, credit cards, and confidential guest data, which underscores the importance of integrity and attention to detail in this position.

Beyond routine guest services, the Guest Service Agent also assists with promoting hotel services such as room up-selling, coordinating with various hotel departments, and ensuring compliance with all relevant laws including liquor regulations. The seasonal nature of the position necessitates flexibility, as the GSA must be prepared to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Physical requirements include standing for extended periods, occasional lifting, and the ability to move around the hotel premises energetically. Overall, this role offers a dynamic and rewarding opportunity to be at the forefront of creating memorable experiences that align with Sonesta’s esteemed hospitality standards. By joining the team, the Guest Service Agent will not only contribute to the operational excellence of one of the largest hotel companies in the U.S. but also gain valuable experience in the hospitality industry within a supportive and growing organization.
