Job Description

Herschend Family Entertainment, established 75 years ago, is the largest family-held themed attractions company in the United States. Originating from the discovery of a remarkable wonder deep within an Ozark Mountain cave by the Herschend family, the company has grown exponentially over the decades. Today, Herschend manages 49 leading attractions and immersive experiences that reach a wide audience worldwide. With a rich history rooted in family values and a passion for creating joyful experiences, Herschend's mission is to bring families closer together by creating memories worth repeating. This mission is delivered consistently through their passionate hosts, who embody what the company calls Heartspitality®—a unique fusion of heart and hospitality that prioritizes everyday acts of love and service.

Lake Compounce, one of Herschend’s flagship parks, is a vibrant family amusement park located in Connecticut that offers a variety of attractions and food and beverage (F&B) experiences to guests. The park seeks individuals who share their core values and commitment to exceptional guest service to join their dynamic team. The company prides itself on creating a welcoming environment where everyone—guests, hosts, and partners alike—feels valued, respected, and loved. As an equal-opportunity employer, Herschend maintains inclusive hiring practices and celebrates diversity among its workforce.

The seasonal Food & Beverage Supervisor role at Lake Compounce is an exciting leadership opportunity within the fast-paced environment of the park’s multiple F&B locations. This position is integral to ensuring smooth and safe daily operations across one or more food and beverage outlets throughout the park. The supervisor is responsible for guiding a team of F&B hosts, ensuring food safety and sanitation, monitoring guest service standards, overseeing food preparation quality, and maintaining financial and inventory controls. In addition to direct supervision, this role includes participation in timekeeping, reporting, and training activities for the department.

Strong leadership skills are essential in this position, as the supervisor must act as a mentor and coach by leading through example, fostering a positive attitude, and representing Lake Compounce’s core values at all times. The individual will become proficient in all essential duties required at assigned F&B positions and provide coverage when necessary to support the team. The role requires handling escalated guest concerns in a calm and positive manner to ensure a welcoming and safe environment.

This position offers the chance to develop supervisory experience within a renowned family entertainment company recognized for its commitment to quality and guest satisfaction. The job demands attention to detail, adherence to state and local health regulations, and a proactive approach to problem-solving within a lively and dynamic park environment. Candidates who are safety-conscious, customer-service oriented, and experienced in food service or restaurant settings will find this an enriching seasonal position with valuable opportunities for personal growth and skill development.

Beyond the leadership responsibilities on the floor, the Food & Beverage Supervisor also plays an important administrative role by managing inventory to reduce waste, coordinating with warehouse and maintenance teams for smooth operational flow, and assisting with compliance regarding food handling certifications like ServSafe. The role is well-suited for candidates who thrive under pressure, enjoy multitasking, and appreciate the fun and fast-paced atmosphere of the amusement park industry.

In summary, the Food & Beverage Supervisor at Lake Compounce represents a blend of managerial oversight, hands-on operational support, and customer-focused hospitality within the largest family-held themed attractions company. This role is perfect for those passionate about making memorable guest experiences while leading a dedicated team in a reputable and fun seasonal work environment. Candidates interested in joining the Lake Compounce team can expect to be part of a company that values diversity, promotes work-life balance, and offers unique benefits catering to employee growth and enjoyment.
