The Seasonal Event Operations Manager role at Harry's is a pivotal position designed to lead and enhance the off-site catering and event operations division throughout the busy summer season. This full-time, temporary, salaried, exempt role starts on June 1 and concludes on August 31, with a potential extension into September depending on business requirements. The position demands a dynamic leader who excels in operational planning, team management, and customer engagement to ensure seamless execution of events. The successful candidate will independently make critical decisions and lead teams consisting of captains, servers, and bartenders, all while upholding Harry's signature hospitality standards.

Serving as the operational backbone for large-scale catering events, the Seasonal Event Operations Manager coordinates multiple vendors, manages complex event logistics, and oversees staffing and service delivery. This role requires strong organizational skills to create and refine operational processes and utilize technology systems for event management and point of sale platforms. Exceptional communication abilities are necessary for cross-departmental coordination and client interactions. The manager must demonstrate a commanding leadership presence, displaying professionalism and calmness under pressure while championing operational efficiency. This position is ideal for an experienced hospitality professional with a proven track record in off-site catering operations, team leadership, and event logistics management. Job Requirements

  • valid driver’s license

  • comfortable driving large catering vehicles
  • reliable transportation to and from events throughout Seattle and the greater Puget Sound region
  • ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
  • consistent availability for evenings, weekends, and late night events
  • ability to remain calm, professional, and solution oriented in high pressure situations

Job Qualifications

  • at least 2 years of experience in hospitality with a focus on off site catering operations
  • experience leading and directing catering teams including captains, servers, and bartenders
  • experience managing logistics for large scale events with multiple vendors and complex timelines
  • highly organized and capable of building and refining standard operating procedures
  • technologically proficient and comfortable using event management systems, POS platforms, and Google Suite
  • strong communication skills and ability to coordinate across multiple departments
  • leadership presence and comfortable making independent operational decisions
  • able to act in accordance with the leadership responsibility of a management level role at all times

Job Duties

  • create pack out lists, staffing plans, rental confirmations, and production timelines for seamless event execution
  • coordinate with culinary teams, rental partners, vendors, and clients to confirm all event components are aligned and fully prepared
  • serve as the primary operational point of contact for clients on the day of the event
  • oversee and direct the on site catering team to ensure smooth service and adherence to standards
  • troubleshoot operational challenges in real time while maintaining professionalism and composure
  • ensure compliance with food safety regulations and responsible alcohol service requirements
  • oversee event breakdown, vehicle loading and unloading, and equipment reset at the end of each event
  • provide detailed end of night recap communication to management including rental counts, equipment condition, labor notes, and documentation of any incidents or discrepancies
  • support ongoing development of catering standard operating procedures and operational systems
  • model professionalism, hospitality, and calm leadership at all times
