Job Description

Phoenix Rescue Mission is a faith-based, nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming the lives of individuals and families experiencing homelessness and poverty in the Phoenix metropolitan area. With a deep commitment to serving the community through compassionate outreach and sustainable programs, the Mission offers food, shelter, rehabilitation, and support services that empower people to reclaim their lives and achieve lasting change. Established with the goal of embodying Christian love and compassion, Phoenix Rescue Mission acts as a beacon of hope and restoration for vulnerable populations, emphasizing dignity, respect, and holistic care.

The organization operates a large warehouse facility that plays a critical role in the collection, storage, and distribution of donated goods. These goods include food, water, clothing, and other essential items that are vital in supporting the Mission’s outreach programs and seasonal efforts to assist more people during peak demand times. The warehouse and distribution operations are essential to the success of Phoenix Rescue Mission’s programs, especially during high-volume seasons such as Code: Red summer initiatives, where the need for supplies intensifies.

The Seasonal Distribution Driver position is a critical support role designed to enhance the capacity of the Mission’s Distribution Driver and Warehouse Coordinator during periods of elevated donation volume. This seasonal role is pivotal in maintaining the efficiency and effectiveness of donation logistics and inventory management at the warehouse. As a Seasonal Distribution Driver, the individual will collaborate closely with the Distribution Driver in route execution and with the Warehouse Coordinator overseeing inventory, scheduling, and logistics. The role involves working in challenging environmental conditions, including outdoor work in extreme heat, and requires physical endurance to lift, carry, and move donations often weighing between 25 and 50 pounds, sometimes heavier with assistance.

Moreover, the Seasonal Distribution Driver operates one or more box trucks, assisting with donation pick-ups and deliveries across multiple routes as required. The job requires meticulous organizational skills to ensure donations are accurately received, sorted, and stored according to established warehouse protocols. The role demands a customer service mindset—interacting professionally and graciously with donors and stakeholders while reflecting the Mission's Christian values.

In addition to hands-on vehicle operation, the role involves maintaining truck logs, monitoring vehicle maintenance needs, and ensuring timely reporting of any defects to uphold safety and reliability standards. This position also emphasizes adherence to legal, regulatory, and company policies, including compliance with the Mission’s Code of Ethical Conduct and employee guidelines centered around its Statement of Faith. Team members are encouraged to participate in spiritual activities and maintain conduct reflective of the organization's Christian principles.

This is a seasonal employment opportunity ideal for individuals seeking to contribute to a meaningful cause during busy periods that require added logistical support. It combines physical labor, customer interaction, and operational responsibility, all within the impactful environment of a mission-driven organization committed to transforming lives through faith-inspired service.
