The Cooking Class Instructor role at PCC Community Markets offers a unique opportunity to work in a seasonal capacity teaching kids and teens through their summer camp programs. The position is based in Bothell, Washington, and starts from June 22nd, running through the end of August. This position plays a vital role in delivering educational and engaging cooking classes that provide both fun and learning for young participants. Instructors are responsible for executing provided lesson plans, managing classroom dynamics, and maintaining a positive environment for students and staff alike. This role requires delivering professional customer service, shopping for class ingredients at PCC stores, organizing the classroom, and collaborating closely with store staff to enhance the overall experience. The Cooking Class Instructor also supervises camp assistants, ensuring smooth operation of each class and offering constructive feedback. The work environment includes physical activity such as standing, walking, and handling classroom setups. The position requires availability Monday through Friday over the summer camp season, with the expectation to work a minimum of 8 out of 10 weeks and approximately 24 hours weekly.

- 1-2 years experience as a cooking class instructor
- two years experience in a related culinary field
- available Monday through Friday during summer camp season

Job Qualifications
- 1-2 years experience as a cooking class instructor
- two years experience in a culinary field such as restaurant cook, sous chef, chef, private chef, catering, recipe developer, or nutritionist
- ability to multitask and problem solve under pressure
- proven ability to convey information in a fun and engaging way
- ability to work in a fast-paced environment with positive customer service orientation
- experience working with kids or teens preferably in an educational setting
- reliable transportation and ability to travel to PCC locations
- culinary degree preferred
Job Duties
- Delivers an exceptional cooking class experience using provided recipes and lesson plans
- shops for class ingredients at PCC Community Markets
- runs a smooth and organized class including set up and clean up
- manages cooking camp assistants during class providing clear direction and feedback
- collaborates with the store team to ensure a seamless learning environment
- promotes ingredients and seasonal marketing initiatives of PCC Markets
- performs other duties as needed to ensure successful execution of classes
