Job Description
The Lido House Autograph Collection is a distinguished member of the Autograph Collection Hotels portfolio, which is part of Marriott International, a world-renowned leader in the hospitality industry. Nestled in the vibrant and picturesque city of Newport Beach, California, Lido House offers a boutique hotel experience that blends coastal charm with contemporary sophistication. Known for its four and five-star hospitality services, the Autograph Collection celebrates individuality in its hotels, providing guests with unique and memorable experiences tailored to their personal style and sense of adventure. Lido House stands as a beacon of quality, originality, and bold character, attracting travelers who seek more than just a place to stay - guests come to immerse themselves in the local culture and enjoy first-class amenities in an inspiring setting.
Marriott International’s Lido House is currently seeking full-time culinary associates to join their dynamic food and beverage team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a non-management role that is crucial to the daily operations of the hotel's culinary services. The role comes with a competitive hourly wage of $27.70 and offers comprehensive training through a partnership with Rouxbe Cooking School, providing access to hundreds of professional culinary lessons designed to enhance skills and career growth. This blend of hands-on work and educational advancement highlights Marriott's commitment to associate development and excellence in service.
The culinary associate’s responsibilities include preparing ingredients by portioning, chopping, washing, and storing food items, maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation while adhering strictly to recipes and food safety protocols. The role demands proficiency in operating various kitchen appliances such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers to prepare food items properly. Attention to detail is critical as associates must test foods to ensure proper cooking and monitor food quality throughout preparation. The role also involves maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen by washing and disinfecting work areas, tools, and equipment, ensuring the food preparation environment is safe and sanitized at all times.
This position requires associates to follow company policies diligently, including safety and security procedures, and actively participate in safety training and certifications. Associates are expected to maintain a professional appearance and demeanor, uphold confidentiality, protect company assets, and foster positive working relationships within the team. Physical demands include standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance, which requires good physical stamina and mobility.
Ideal candidates will have at least a high school diploma or GED equivalent and a minimum of one year of related culinary experience, although no supervisory experience or specific licenses are required. Marriott values diversity and inclusivity, striving to create an environment where every associate’s background is respected and celebrated. As an equal opportunity employer, Marriott International ensures fair hiring practices, including considerations for individuals with criminal histories in compliance with applicable laws.
Joining the Lido House Autograph Collection offers more than just a job; it offers a chance to be part of a vibrant global team known for delivering authentic and personalized experiences. Associates are encouraged to grow their skills through continuous learning opportunities and to contribute to a workplace where they can be their best selves. If you are passionate about culinary arts and eager to develop your career in a prestigious hotel setting, this position represents a rewarding and fulfilling path within Marriott’s esteemed hospitality network.
