As part of a Fortune 150 corporation, Core-Mark has leveraged a solid reputation for enabling customers, employees, and communities, generating over 23 billion dollars in revenue. The company's extensive distribution network spans across the United States and Canada, providing a comprehensive range of products, programs, and solutions tailored to meet the dynamic needs of the convenience retail sector. Core-Mark fosters a workplace culture built on respect, inclusivity, and growth opportunities, offering a safe and rewarding environment for employees. The company emphasizes competitive compensation alongside a robust benefits package including Day 1 Health & Wellness Benefits, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, 401K Employer Matching, Education Assistance, and Paid Time Off, supporting both the personal and professional growth of its workforce.
The position available is for a Seasonal/Temporary Delivery Driver, essential to supporting America’s food distribution system. This role is estimated to last for six months but may vary depending on operational business needs. While this is a temporary employment opportunity, seasonal employees have the potential to be considered for full-time positions when business demands evolve, though conversion is not guaranteed. The position offers competitive pay at $30.50 per hour, with unique compensation that rewards drivers for their work measured by miles driven, stops made, and units unloaded. The delivery routes are scheduled in early morning dispatches (1:00 AM to 6:00 AM) and evening dispatches (5:00 PM to 6:00 PM), offering some shift flexibility.
Food and food service delivery drivers hold a vital role within the supply chain, ensuring that customer orders are delivered timely, accurately, and in excellent condition. Beyond their operational duties, drivers act as the frontline representatives of Core-Mark, fostering positive and lasting relationships with customers through dependable service and professionalism. The position involves operating tractor-trailers or straight trucks on various types of routes including intrastate, interstate, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, overnight, and drive and drop. The responsibilities are wide-ranging, emphasizing safety compliance with the Department of Transportation regulations, thorough equipment inspections, accurate record-keeping, and maintaining clear communication with customers and co-workers to ensure seamless delivery operations.
In this role, drivers perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, report any defects or safety issues, verify loads for correct count and secure freight, complete necessary documentation, and manage any returns or damaged goods responsibly. The driver’s interaction with customers includes obtaining signatures upon delivery and collecting payments when applicable. Maintaining cleanliness of equipment and compliance with all safety protocols is crucial. Drivers must document hours worked accurately in adherence to Federal DOT, state, and company regulations. Core-Mark’s delivery drivers embody a commitment to safety, reliability, and customer service and are integral to the company’s promise of quality distribution. This position is ideal for individuals who hold a valid CDL-A license, have a clean driving record, and take pride in being an essential link in the food supply chain.
