The role also focuses on preventing theft and securing assets by recognizing potential security risks and notifying management or Asset Protection teams when needed. Operating essential store equipment pertinent to the department is part of daily responsibilities, including using telephones, paging systems, scanning devices, surveillance systems, paint mixers, flooring cutters, and other retail technology.
This position is excellent for individuals with less than one year of retail experience or familiarity with retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets, who are looking to advance their careers in retail sales. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Less than 1 year experience using a computer including inputting, accessing, and modifying information
- Less than 1 year experience using common retail technology such as smartphones and tablets
- Less than 1 year retail experience performing tasks such as identifying and selling products based on customer needs, explaining warranties, assisting customers, building relationships, resolving issues, zone recovery, and housekeeping
- Ability to obtain sales related licensure or registration as may be required by law
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Provides SMART customer service at all times through execution of company policies and programs
- Seeks out customers to understand needs and assists in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and loading merchandise
- Listens and responds knowledgeably and promptly to customer and associate questions by guiding them through store areas and projects
- Demonstrates sincere appreciation to customers
- Communicates information regarding stock, special orders, feature benefits, application, and warranty programs
- Writes customer contracts and invoices for equipment rental and tool repairs
- Cross-functionally trains in other store areas to enhance customer service
- Detects signs of shoplifting, theft, and security risks and reports to management or Asset Protection
- Ensures compliance with housekeeping standards such as Zone Recovery to maintain store cleanliness and organization
- Maintains a safe and secure work environment through daily safety checks, hazard identification, and securing premises
- Adheres to safety requirements relevant to job duties including top stock safety and use of safety devices
- Operates store equipment specific to role and department including phones, paging systems, copiers, CCTV, key cutters, paint mixers, flooring cutters, and tool rentals
