Job Description

Lowe's Companies, Inc. (NYSE: LOW) is a Fortune 100 home improvement company that has established itself as a leader in the retail industry, serving approximately 16 million customer transactions weekly. With an impressive total fiscal year 2025 sales figure exceeding $86 billion, Lowe's operates approximately 1,700 home improvement stores, 530 branches, and 130 distribution centers across the nation. Headquartered in Mooresville, North Carolina, Lowe's employs around 300,000 associates dedicated to supporting local communities through initiatives aimed at creating safe and affordable housing, enhancing community spaces, fostering skilled trade development, and providing disaster relief. The company prides itself on a culture of inclusivity, equal opportunity, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.

The role of a customer service associate at Lowe's is essential to maintaining the company's reputation for providing high-quality assistance and support within its stores. This position is focused on offering SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound) customer service by adhering to Lowe's policies, procedures, and customer programs consistently. Customer service associates actively engage with customers by understanding their individual needs, assisting them in locating, selecting, and carrying merchandise, and sometimes helping with loading purchases. Associates demonstrate genuine appreciation towards customers and efficiently communicate details about stock availability, special order merchandise, product features, benefits, warranty details, and Lowe's specific programs.

This role not only involves direct interaction with customers but also requires meticulous attention to operational details such as writing customer contracts and invoices for equipment rentals and tool repairs in the Tool Rental Department. Customer service associates are cross-functionally trained in different areas of the store, enabling them to provide versatile support and contribute to overall store success. Safety and security play a significant part in the job scope, requiring associates to detect potential shoplifting or security risks, ensure adherence to housekeeping and safety standards, and maintain a safe work environment by conducting safety reviews and monitoring hazardous conditions.

The position offers a competitive pay range of $15.00 to $15.60 per hour, with starting pay reflective of factors such as job location, experience, and education. Employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package tailored for both full-time and part-time associates. These benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance; life and disability coverage; paid time off; flexible spending accounts; a 401(k) retirement plan with company match; employee assistance programs; education support including tuition assistance and trade skill scholarships; and much more. Furthermore, associates have access to Lowe's employee discount programs and discretionary benefits such as annual bonuses and participation in stock purchase plans.

Lowe's is committed to providing a positive career experience, offering opportunities for growth, learning, and skill development in a thriving retail environment. The company fosters a diverse and inclusive workplace where all associates are valued regardless of background. Joining Lowe's means being part of a dynamic team dedicated to helping customers improve their homes and communities while also advancing personal career goals within a stable and historic company.
