The role of a Sales Associate at Lowe's is essential in delivering SMART customer service through the consistent application of Lowe's customer service policies, procedures, and programs. This position involves actively engaging with customers to understand their needs, guiding them through product selections, demonstrations, and assisting in carrying or loading merchandise. The Sales Associate is responsible for answering customer and associate questions promptly and knowledgeably, sometimes accompanying customers through project walkthroughs to provide tailored advice and support.

Beyond customer assistance, this role encompasses working collaboratively across various store departments, including writing contracts and invoices for equipment rentals in the Tool Rental Department. The Sales Associate is also vigilant in detecting signs of shoplifting, theft, or other security risks, promptly reporting such incidents to management or Asset Protection to maintain store safety. Maintaining cleanliness and organizational standards in line with Zone Recovery programs is also a key responsibility, ensuring a pleasant and safe shopping environment.

Safety is a critical aspect of this role, with the Sales Associate expected to uphold all safety requirements associated with store operations, including proper use of safety equipment and conducting daily safety checks to identify hazards. Familiarity in operating various store equipment such as Zebra phones, paging systems, copiers, CCTV surveillance systems, tool rentals, and specialty machinery related to specific departments is important.
