We are currently seeking a dedicated individual who embodies the luxury lifestyle experience to join our team in the role of Bartender. This position is perfect for someone who has a passion for exceptional hotel service, an enthusiasm for mixology, and a sharp sense of humor to engage guests in an authentic, spontaneous atmosphere.

The ideal candidate will be familiar with the latest trends and techniques in mixology, knowledgeable about bar equipment and sanitation standards, and focused on maintaining an attractive and inviting bar environment. This role requires a dynamic individual who can prepare drinks according to specified recipes, handle wine and champagne service, maintain cleanliness and stock supplies, and provide vivid and interesting descriptions of drinks to guests seated at the bar. Attention to detail, efficiency during high-volume hours, excellent communication skills, and a friendly demeanor are essential for success in this position.

As a Thompson Bartender, you will be expected to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, from preparing fresh garnishes to processing payments and securing valuable inventory. You will work harmoniously with co-workers and supervisors, ensuring smooth operations while delivering an unparalleled guest experience. Physical stamina and the ability to work in a fast-paced, noisy, shared workspace are necessary, along with a willingness to work weekends and adapt to frequent changes with optimism and professionalism.

Job Qualifications

  • Great memory for recollection of frequently requested drinks
  • Knowledge and skills in mixology and preparation to create signature drinks

  • Highly organized to maintain order using a multitude of different ingredients and tools
  • Efficiency during high-volume hours
  • Ability to provide consistency for regular guests

Job Duties

  • Prepare drink orders for guests according to specified recipes using measuring systems
  • Issue, open, and serve wine/champagne bottles
  • Set up and maintain cleanliness and condition of bar, bar unit, tables, and other tools
  • Prepare fresh garnishes for drinks
  • Stock ice, glassware, and paper supplies
  • Transport supplies to bar set-up area
  • Wash soiled glassware
  • Remove soiled wares from bar top and tables and place in designated area
  • Anticipate and communicate replenishment needs
  • Process all payment methods
  • Count bank at end of shift, secure bank
  • Complete designated cashier reports, resolve any discrepancies, drop off receipts
  • Secure liquors, beers, wines, coolers, cabinets, and storage areas
  • Complete closing duties
  • Work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors
  • Service and take orders from guests seated at the bar area offering interesting, and vivid descriptions of each item's, origin, taste, and preparation methods
  • Maintain a working knowledge of liquors, wines, beets, ports, Armagnacs, eau de vies, cognacs and specialty drinks
  • All other duties as assigned by leadership
