Job Description

The Exchange is a stylish whiskey and craft cocktail bar known for its extensive selection of premium whiskeys sourced from around the globe. With established locations in South Bend, Indiana, and Mass Ave in the heart of Indianapolis, The Exchange offers an inviting atmosphere for both casual visitors and whiskey aficionados alike. Renowned for its dedication to quality and an exceptional guest experience, The Exchange has built a reputation as a go-to destination for those seeking expertly crafted drinks and a vibrant social scene.

This holiday season, The Exchange is partnering once again with Sippin' Santa, a tiki-inspired holiday pop-up created by the team behind Miracle. Sippin' Santa offers a unique festive escape with tropical holiday décor, island-style cocktails, and a lively, high-energy atmosphere designed to brighten the winter months. This seasonal event transforms The Exchange into a festive playground where guests can enjoy a blend of holiday cheer and island vibes. To support this exciting transformation, The Exchange is seeking hardworking and upbeat Seasonal Barbacks to join the team and help deliver a memorable and enjoyable experience for all patrons.

As a Seasonal Barback at Sippin' Santa, you will be an essential part of the bar team, ensuring smooth operations and uninterrupted service throughout the event. Your responsibilities will include stocking the bar with all necessary supplies such as liquor, mixers, syrups, glassware, and garnishes before and during service. You will be responsible for maintaining the bar's cleanliness and organization by wiping surfaces, clearing glassware, emptying trash, and replenishing ice wells and kegs. Additionally, you will assist bartenders with prep work including cutting garnishes and setting up service stations to ensure efficiency behind the bar.

You'll play a critical role in supporting bartenders, servers, and managers by communicating effectively to uphold excellent service standards. Adhering to responsible alcohol service, sanitation, and safety procedures is key in this role to maintain a safe and professional environment. The Seasonal Barback will also lend their energy and professionalism to support themed nights, special events, and high-volume shifts, contributing positively to the team's dynamic and the overall guest experience.

This position is ideal for individuals who thrive in fast-paced, high-energy environments and enjoy working as part of a collaborative team. The Seasonal Barback must demonstrate strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask efficiently, all while maintaining a positive, dependable attitude that aligns with the festive spirit of Sippin' Santa. Physical stamina is necessary due to the demands of standing for extended periods and lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds.

The Exchange offers seasonal employment from November through January, giving team members the chance to be part of a unique, holiday-themed experience that combines tropical flair with exceptional hospitality. This is a fantastic opportunity for those looking to gain valuable bar experience, work in a renowned cocktail bar, and contribute to a fun, memorable holiday event. To participate, candidates must be at least 21 years of age, authorized to work in the U.S., and hold a valid Indiana Alcohol Server Permit.
