Job Description

The Nest at Thompson Seattle is one of the most iconic rooftop bars in the city, situated atop the luxurious Thompson Seattle hotel. This stunning bar offers breathtaking panoramic views of Elliot Bay and the Olympic Mountains, making it a highly sought-after location for both locals and tourists. The Nest provides a unique and memorable atmosphere, featuring carefully crafted seasonal menus with bites and cocktails that showcase the best of the Pacific Northwest’s ingredients. From exclusive tastings to lively DJ nights under the stars, The Nest creates an exceptional social experience far beyond your average downtown bar. The venue is well-known not only for its scenic setting and great food and drinks but also for being a hotspot to see and be seen.

We are currently looking for a dedicated Full Time Seasonal Barback to join our Food & Beverage team at The Nest. This role is crucial in supporting our bartenders and ensuring that the bar operates smoothly and efficiently throughout the busy summer season, anticipated to run from mid-May to the end of September. As a barback, you will work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where your responsibilities include maintaining cleanliness and organization behind the bar, replenishing supplies, assisting with drink preparation, and responding promptly to the needs of both bartenders and guests. Your proactive attitude and attention to detail will directly contribute to providing an outstanding guest experience. Reliable barbacks are key to upholding The Nest’s reputation for exceptional hospitality and helping create memorable moments for every visitor.

This seasonal employment offers an hourly wage starting at $18.00, supplemented by a taxable 20% service charge added to each check. Of this service charge, 17% is distributed to service personnel, while 3% is retained by the hotel as an administrative fee. Additional gratuities are at the discretion of the guests and are 100% retained by the barback colleague. Full-time employees are eligible for a range of benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance after 30 days of employment, 401k retirement savings plans, basic life insurance, short-term disability insurance, and generous paid time off programs. The Nest encourages open availability from candidates for the entire season to meet the demands of the role and its dynamic environment. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about hospitality and eager to work in a premier rooftop bar setting to grow their skills and be part of a renowned establishment.
