Job Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Experience with Marriott, Hilton, IHG, Wyndham or Hyatt processes and standards
  • Knowledge of catering and food service policies and procedures
  • Supervision and management skills
  • Oral and written communication skills
  • Moderate hearing ability
  • Excellent vision
  • Moderate speech communication skills
  • Reading and comprehension of BEOs
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry food and equipment
  • Ability to bend, stand up to one hour multiple times per day
  • Full range of mobility and travel 30-50 feet regularly

Job Duties

  • Service, set-up and break down assigned functions in a safe, accident-free manner
  • Maintain a clean and wrinkle-free uniform with proper grooming
  • Read Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and set up equipment necessary for each function
  • Set tables correctly and uniformly with proper equipment
  • Set up buffets with food presentation and table preparation before events
  • Keep buffet stations neat and clean while servicing guests
  • Use proper clearing and tray break-down techniques
  • Assist Banquet Captain in setting up and breaking down buffets and equipment
  • Greet and serve guests following established food and beverage service guidelines
  • Complete assigned paperwork per event
  • Perform all side work during and after events
  • Organize and stock products during downtime
  • Return and clean all used equipment
  • Properly dispose of served buffet food
  • Label, date, and store saved food correctly
  • Maintain banquet areas neat and ready for the next day's business
