Job Requirements
- Minimum age 18 years
- Ability to work graveyard shift hours
- Capability to stand, walk and bend for extended periods
- Ability to lift and maneuver objects weighing up to 30 pounds
- Capacity to perform repetitive hand, eye, and foot coordination tasks
- Compliance with company safety and sanitation standards
- Willingness to work in variable temperature conditions
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous baking experience preferred but not required
- Basic knowledge of bakery terms and procedures
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good physical stamina and ability to perform repetitive tasks
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Effective communication skills
Job Duties
- Perform bakery functions such as mixing, scaling, proofing, baking, frying, and finishing bakery items as directed, according to standard formulas and procedures
- Knowledgeable of basic bakery terms and processes such as fermentation, bench time, proofing, and effects of temperature variations on bakery items
- Assist in making orders for bakery ingredients and supplies and maintain inventory levels in accordance with department and store policy
- Capable of filling, rotating, arranging and merchandising displays and display cases
- Possess knowledge of pricing, dating, wrapping or bagging of all bakery products in accordance with Bakery Merchant
- Continually be proactive on self-development so that additional duties and responsibilities can be assumed
- Comply with all company safety and accident prevention policies, reporting all accidents to the Bakery Merchant
- Clean and sanitize areas of bakery and equipment as directed by Bakery Merchant
- Maintain all department equipment in good working order and recommend repair of equipment when deemed necessary
