Job Requirements

Minimum age 18 years
Ability to perform physical tasks including standing, walking, bending, grasping, pushing, pulling, carrying, stooping, twisting, crouching, and reaching
Ability to perform repetitive motions and coordinate hand, eye, and foot movements
Ability to safely maneuver heavy objects up to 30 pounds
Ability to hear and respond to customer inquiries
Compliance with company safety and sanitation policies
Willingness to work flexible schedules

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent
Previous experience in baking or related food preparation preferred
Basic understanding of bakery processes and terminology
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to follow standard recipes and procedures accurately
Good physical stamina to meet job demands
Willingness to learn and grow within the company
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Good communication skills

Job Duties

Perform bakery functions such as mixing, scaling, proofing, baking, frying, and finishing bakery items according to standard formulas and procedures
Be knowledgeable of basic bakery terms and processes such as fermentation, bench time, proofing, and effects of temperature variations on bakery items
Assist in making orders for bakery ingredients and supplies and maintain inventory levels in accordance with department and store policy
Fill, rotate, arrange and merchandise displays and display cases
Possess knowledge of pricing, dating, wrapping or bagging of all bakery products in accordance with Bakery Merchant
Be proactive on self-development to assume additional duties and responsibilities
Comply with all company safety and accident prevention policies, reporting all accidents to the Bakery Merchant
Clean and sanitize areas of bakery and equipment as directed by Bakery Merchant
Maintain all department equipment in good working order and recommend repair of equipment when necessary
